I visited the doctor for treatment of infection called Balanoposthitis. Medicines that were costliest were prescribed. Medicines with same chemical formula were far more cheaper. However, still I went for the same medicine names that doctor wrote. In the first appointment itself doctor advised surgery. He also wrote several tests. I suffered from stubborn Balanoposthitis infection. The doctor prescribed some antibiotics to treat the condition rather than referring me to a Dermatologist. After medicines prescribed by him did not solve the problem, I went to a dermatologist who solved the problem within minutes. Doctor also informed me that if the medicines do not solve the problem I will have to go for surgery or circumcision rather than referring me to a Dermatologist. I suggest all doctors to refer all Balanoposthitis cases to Dermatologists. Antibiotics prescribed by all three urologists including doctor Rao made my problem worse. I also faced severe side effects of all these anti-biotics. On 27th June 2017 a major English daily newspaper published a report titled Urinary tract infections are turning deadly because of rampant antibiotic use prescribed by doctors and every year kidneys of around 4-5 patients fail because of this. Its a humble request, please refer us to a correct doctor if it is not your cup of tea. Treat us as patients and not as Customers. PS: One important note: This doctor did not give the receipt for his consultation fees as well. ** **** ****** ** ***** ******** *** ******* ******** The disease identified by Dermatologist was CANDIDIAL BALANOPOSTHITIS and not just Balanoposthitis. Dermatologist informed that this doesn't fall under the jurisdiction of Urologists as its a skin disease.
