He has wide experience in performing endoscopic procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic) in infants and children.He has held different positions in the paediatric gastroenterology department through his career. He was the first to introduce a paediatric gastroenterology department in India with multidimensional growth in the field of patient referral, academics, research, training programs, he held high positions such as the Founder President of Indian Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN), Chairperson (National President) Pediatric Gastroenterology specialty of Indian Academy of Pediatrics etc.He set up the first post-doctoral certificate course aimed at paediatric gastroenterology for paediatricians (post MD) in the year 2000.
