I have to admit that it takes time for me to build confidence when it comes to choosing medical services. This cautious bend of mind will be on a higher side when it involves an invasive medical procedure. Narayana Multi Specialty Hospital has always upheld the value of medical field far beyond its peers – This has been my personal experience since 2010 till date .

In this review, I would like to specifically bring out the last in the series of positive re assuring experience which we had with the Hospital and its world class doctors.

My wife needed a surgery which we were postponing for a while for various reasons. This year (2021) in the month of July we met Dr Sashidhara Matta in the NH specialty hospital located in HSR layout, Bangalore .

Dr Sashidhara ensures that his patients are made aware of all aspects of their medical condition. He does that with a lot of patience and one will not feel hesitant to ask him all those doubts which might possibly come to the mind. He will not recommend a surgery unless it is absolutely essential ( which is not the case with many of the private hospitals around) . He would take time to sit with us post procedure to explain what was done (in our case he shared the video of the relevant parts of the procedure) what can be expected in the coming days ( so that we are prepared) and how to manage.

He has been with this hospital since last 10 years after his overseas experience in the medical arena. It is rare to come across such experienced, well qualified doctors who are humble and empathetic to their patients.

I would recommend Dr Sashidhar anyday to anyone anyday. You are in safe hands if it’s him

Our Meeting was arranged by Ms. Vijaya who is in charge of the administration and patient relations of this hospital. Her role in ensuring the seamless customer experience with this institution all these years deserves special mention. We are so grateful for her reassuring approach and positive attitude which went a long way into our pleasant experience with the hospital. I admire her also for the energy which she has in handling several anxious patients like us impeccably there on a daily basis. Employees like Ms Vijaya are a rock solid foundation and asset for any organization.

We only have good things to say about all related departments in the hospital - registration, billing, employees who assist patients while they first come to the hospital, insurance desk etc

I had been suffering from this problem for 3 yrs and consulted doctor shashidhara in 2014 while he had suggested that the permanent solution for the problem was surgery.The thought of surgery scared me n I started going for alternative methods like homeopathy for 2 yrs but the relief was temporary n the problem was nightmare to suffer.This year I made up my mind for surgery n revisited the doctor .He instilled confidence in me n said I can have a normal life once I'm done with the surgery.Mar 25th I underwent the surgery n 2 months now I am having a painfree life.

I give full credit to the doctor. U may find many surgeons in bangalore but for the first time in my life I have met a doc in bangalore who is approachable n patiently listens to u.His smile eases out ur stress n he gives convincing answers to ur queries.If not for this doc I would continue to suffer due to lack of confidence to undergo the surgery.

I will recommend doctor shashidhara to patients in n around whitefield n to patients even from other parts of bangalore.Do visit him n get urself treated

Other qualities of the doctor that impressed me are friendliness, making the patient comfortable and confident and putting in efforts to explain the illness and its treatment

The surgery in my opinion was performed well and I am recovering fast.

I consulted doctor Shashidhara G Matta for stomach problems. I was getting this infection with a span of 2 or 3 months. All the previous doctors told me to avoid outside food or hotel foods.

I have told my problem to him( Shashidhara G Matta) and he asked me many questions like my diet habits , any allergy to food etc.. and he checked me very well. Within 30min , doctor analysed my problem and he told it is not a disease and he told me to avoid foods like insoluble fiber and it is a condition known as IBS. The main cause is anxiety and stress and i have checked in google and what ever doctor told was correct symptoms for me. I was not disppointed as there are enough plenty of foods i can take which are suitable for IBS. He also suggested me to do yoga and meditation and it is not a disease which can be cured by tablets.

He told me to avoid milk, diary products like chocolates etc.

A very friendly and simple person. He won't give tablets unnecessarily.

my experience with dr, shashidhara was TOO BAD. Actually, I had a severe pain on right side of my stomach, thats why i visited dr.shashidhara in narayana hrudayalaya, near prestige shantiniketan, whitefield on friday (24th july 2015). When i went there to meet him, he calmly listened my problems and asked many questions about my lifestyle and wrote down some notes like my everyday diet, my habits, urine urea characteristics, medicines i have taken before coming to him etc etc.(I have visited a dr in my company before going to visit dr.shashidhara, and had taken 2 doses of the meds given by my company dr.) After investigation, he told me to undergo blood and urine test and CT-scan (CT-scan was for, dr. wasnt able to figure out whether prob is appendicitis or kidney stone) . As I come with CT-scan report he said, u dont have any of them, but the pain may be due to the inflamation of the appendix coz it is twisted in my case. According to these outcomes from CT-scan report he gave me some meds and told me to come if pain is increased. Here note that, my blood and urine test results arent come yet. Without checking blood and urine tests result he gave me meds. I went home and took those meds as prescribed by dr.shashidhara, but my pain has increased like anything, now it was paining at the lower back side (where kidneys are situated) as well and right side of stomach pain is also increased. I again visited him on saturday. I also got my blood and urine test results. When i showed him my results, he said your serum creatinine is increased to a very high value (it was 2.4 where it should be around 0.8 in normal case), he started asking about the meds i ws taking before coming to him, I told him that company dr's presciption I havent brought today, but u have wrote down those meds names yesterday, but he wasnt able to read the meds name whatever he wrote a day before (dr's handwriting....we all know...:/). Then he told me because of the meds u took before coming to me, affected ur kidneys, and whichever meds i have given u will also affect function of ur kidneys, so i ll stop this course of meds right now but u visit a nephrologist (kidney specialist) coz this back side pain is a serious issue. (MY POINT IS WHY THIS FELLOW STARTED MEDICATIONS BEFORE EXAMINING ALL THE TESTS REPORTS.) After this he told me to visit Dr. jeesha giridharan (?) (i m not remembering her surname). she ws in NARAYANA HRUDAYLAYA itself. when i visited her (yes, after paying her visiting fees 500rs), she listened my problem and told me whichever meds ur company dr gave you are responsible for ur kidneys malfuction. and ur pain may be a MUSCLE PAIN only. (who gave this girl a degree, muscle pain in the stomach...??.... i mean....seriously...??). Let me tell you, at this point my pain has become so serious that i was about to cry (i m 26 male). well, i accepted whatevr told by dr.(?) jeesha, and as recommended by her, I visited Dr. abhijit chavan a orthopedic in NARAYAN HRUDAYALAYA itself (again 500rs visiting fees). Again I told him all the problem, and he discussed my problem with Dr. shashidhara and Dr. jeesha on phone, and told me "TO BE HONEST, WE ARE NOT ABLE TO FIGURE OUT YOUR PROBLEM, YOU TAKE THESE MEDICINES AND COME AFTER TWO DAYS, WE WILL SEE THE SYMPTOMS AND WILL DECIDE THE FURTHER TREATMENT, SO NOW IT WILL BE SYMPTOMATIC CURE" , these were his words. and yea he gave me PARACETAMOL tablets for such a severe pain, this pain wasnt letting me to sleep, sit or walk, even when i was breathing, it was paining in my lower abdomen and lower back. On this point, I decided to go to my home town( bangalore is not my native) and to visit my family Dr. I wasnt able to walk properly, so i called my brother on dat day itself and headed back to my home. my family dr told me dat becuase of the meds ur kidneys are disfunctioned and got swelled. he gave me some meds for appendicitis and kidney problem. In 2-3 days he managed to put everything at the normal.. again i checked my creatinine level and now it was under control. My family dr. said increasing creatinine is a serious issue and may lead to serious problem to kidneys.

Dr. shashidhara's negligence might have caused a serious damage to my health and future life. also Doctors in Narayana hospital are not experienced, staff is also not humble. The doctors are running each others business, one dr will tell u to go to other dr, he will again send u to another one so on. (dat dr jeesha was sending me to physiotherapist to do some exercise for appendix and kidney pain...)

So, I wont recommend either Dr. shashidhara or Dr.(?) Jeesha (kidney specialist). Also Narayna hospital is for business only. Staff is also not good, when I went to do CT-scan in the CT-scan lab, some people in the lab told me to find that technician who is in some other lab and called him here to do ur tests I wasnt able to walk properly and these people made me to run here n there to get my tests done.

I would suggest AVOID GOING TO NARAYANA HRUDAYALAYA

I have had worst ever medical experience with this doctor.

I took an appointment with him at Narayana Multispecialty, Whitefield, Bangalore for 3PM, 25th Feb 2016, as my wife was having acute and continuous stomach pain.

When we reached there the nurses informed me that the doctor is in a meeting, so we waited. When it was about 30 minutes I couldnt see my wife in pain and told them that the appointment time should have been respected and when I said that, it was for the hospital management and not for the doctor specifically as I understood that there could be an emergency which needed his attention.

Well, He came at about 3:30 and then called another patient who was waiting before us, and after finishing with them we entered at 3:40 which was 40 minutes later than our time. Everything was fine till this point, even after the delay I was hoping that he would check my wife.

A doctor should first try to comfort the patient, but what happened after that was preposterous. The doctor went outside his cabin spoke to the nurses and God knows what he understood, but he came and started shouting at us for good 5-6 minutes.

He said that he was responsible for a lot of things like meetings, surgeries, etc etc and if we expect him to be on time, we should go and meet some other doctor, there are 1000 doctors in town. He kept speaking in frustration in front of the hospital admin.

All this while the lady was in pain which needed immediate attention, But Worse happened after this. He got a call that there is some emergency and he simply walked off without uttering few simple words of courtesy that please go to the emergency care unit. He could have even directed the Hospital Admin to take us to the emergency if he was busy.

But he chose to simply walk away leaving the patient behind.

gastroenteritis infections are often serious ones and if this is how doctors start behaving out of false ego then they dont have right to practice.

And I dont know what's the meaning of the Hippocratic Oath that doctors take...

Please beware of this kind of egoist doctors, there are many other good ones in town as he said himself.

These clinics claim to run and charge like corporates and behave like this. They will be good to you only until everything happens as per their wish.

I consulted Dr.Matta for gallstones and gall bladder cholecytitis. My experience with him was very nice. One of the most patient doctors who invests considerable amount of time in hearing your problem right from root and then explaining the treatment. In my case I had to undergo a gall bladder removal prior to which the doctor enlightened me on the gall bladder anatomy and how the surgery would be carried out along with any side effects if any.

Very confident and highly expertised hand in surgical process. I would definitely recommend him for any GI treatment and surgery.

The kind of service that Narayana Health provides is really very good with great surgeons. My mother was fit to walk within 7 days after the surgery.. Dr Shashidhara Matta is very kind in nature and helps a lot for the patients, he takes the utmost care.

My wife was diagnosed with gallbladder stone (multiple) and was suggested for cholecystectomy. We had a very good experience with Dr. shashidhara, he explained the procedure in detail and clarified all our queries and worries. Now my wife is recovering well after surgery and hoping her normal life. Thanks a lot doctor !!

Dr Matta gives you time and attention. He will not recommend surgery unless needed and even when needed will give you time to decide if your case is not a time critical one.

Provides a clear perspective and different alternatives available.

I felt reassured and very comfortable being operated by him. Was back on my feet post surgery same day , all because of the confidence he provided.
