We visited Shantala Rudresh based on positive reviews on Practo, for my son's eczema (it was correctly diagnosed as Atopic Dermititis by the doctor). My son underwent treatment for 290 days (9 months and 20 days). During the treatment initially the lesions was controlled for first 6 months but later started flaring up. When we visited the doctor for first time, the lesions were on the leg but in 8 months time it was all over the body including face. Our son went through a lot physically and mentally (he would howl and itch rigorously through out day and night). The doctor would not tell us whether this worsening condition is healing symptoms due to detoxification and whether it is to be expected. She put it down to viral rash and that it will go away in few weeks but even though rashes were gone the eczema condition continued to deteriorate to such an extent that we inquired with the doc whether we can discontinue medication for some time, to which she readily agreed and finally admitted that the flare-ups were due to detoxification. We were also asked to revisit after a month. But the condition (Oozing and itching on the lesions) did not improve. After 35 days when we revisited, doctor panicked and blamed us why we did not come earlier and that we were playing with the child!! There were 2 instances during treatment of 9 months when she blamed us (parents) for the worsening condition (why did you take him to native town etc about which she did not fore-warn). We were giving the medication religiously and have taken utmost care with child's hygiene and food. Also all appointments with doctor (frequency of weekly sometimes) were attended. While we realize that curing of the disease cannot be guaranteed, what put us off, was this doctor's attitude of de-risking herself by putting the blame on parents. She also bluntly asked us to change the doctor after treatment of 10 months when we asked her why he should restart supposedly new medication and how it will improve his condition when it could not, all this while. All her concern for the kid is just superficial. Can she say which doctor would accept a patient in this aggravated condition? We don't know the composition of any of the multiple tablets (changed regularly as is the case in homeopathy), despite asking for the same and she says we are playing with the child's life? I wonder who was playing with my son's condition for 10 months. In our final meeting she said we were killing her time (we probably were there with her for 15 minutes after waiting for 45 minutes) and she finally barged out of the room. It was overall a very frustrating association with this doctor.
