Dr Saurabh Misra is the Director of Minimal access, bariatrics and Robotic surgery at Fortis hospitals BG road Bangalore since Nov 2025.He was working as Senior Consultant and head, Coordinator, Gastrointestinal, MinimalAccess Robotic and Bariatric surgeon , at Apollo hospital, Bangalore, Karnataka, 76,since January 2007.Completed his Robotic accreditation for DaVenci Xi system in November 2019. Nowperforming robotic surgeries routinely.Performed more than 10000, independent minimal access and 150 Robotic surgeries,since accreditation which includes advanced Gastrointestinal, Colo- rectal, Bariatricand complex hernia surgeries.Author of the best selling book : ‘Incisions’ published by Stardom books, USA.Appointed examiner by NBE ( New Delhi) for minimal access exit exams. Performed numerous SILS( Single incision surgeries ) procedures till date.Completed accreditation for robotic surgery in 2019.Conducted more than 75 robotic Gastrointestinal, bariatric and advanced hernia surgeries till date.Presently training young surgeons for the same since last 15 years.Special Contribution :Pioneered a technique known as e TEP Rives Stoppa procedure for Ventral hernias ( Unit havinglargest series of these procedures in Asia-Pacific region ) Presented a paper on the same subject atTokyo , Japan in Oct, 2016, Taiwan 2017 and HSI, New Delhi- 2018, HSIcon Kolkatta 2019,EHS, Prague 2024.
