Dr. Sanjay Deshpande is a Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Infectious Disease specialist consulting at Manipal Paediatric Daycare center at Kormangala. He has over 8 years’ experience in this field.Dr. Sanjay has pursued his post-graduate studies from the prestigious Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health- Bengaluru (2010-2012). After which he completed higher studies in Paediatrics from Lilavati Hospital and Research center at Mumbai (2012-2014)He was selected for his super-specialty in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital at Chennai, which is the state of art tertiary Paediatric center in South India. During his training period (2017-2019) he has gained vast experience in the management of a wide spectrum of Paediatric infectious diseases from the common cold, dengue, flu to complicated childhood illnesses like pneumonia, brain fever (meningitis), urinary tract infections, Tuberculosis, and vaccine-preventable diseases.His stronghold lies in “Evaluation of children with fever” to distinguish simple childhood viral fevers from the fever which needs further evaluation and management. He has a staunch advocator of“ Rationale Antibiotic” policy and has conducted many workshops for students and general Paediatricians on “ The art of prescribing appropriate antibiotics”Dr. Sanjay has a keen interest in academics and teaching and has published scientific papers in key areas of Paediatric infections like Dengue, Influenza (Swine flu)
