Surg.) Well qualified Pediatric Surgeon with nearly 30years of Experience in the field in Public & PrivateSector. Established State-of-the-art department ofPediatric Surgery at Indira Gandhi Institute ofChild Health, Bengaluru and served it for 28 yearsto attain National Acclaim. He is a pioneer in Pediatric Minimal AccessSurgery and was in the forefront in theestablishment of Pediatric MAS in the country. Extensive surgical, teaching and trainingexperience of nearly 30 years in all the spheres ofPediatric Surgery – Neonatal, Urologic,Hepatobiliary, Gastro-enteral, Colo-rectal,Oncologic, Thoracic surgery in Children. He hasmentored dozens of MCh and Post MCh Students. He has innovated several surgical instrumentsand devices and has been a pioneer inimprovisations in several surgical techniques. He has conducted several national andinternational Workshops on Pediatric MinimalAccess Surgery and has trained over 300 pediatricsurgeons in the art and science of Pediatric MAS. He has been an invited speaker and operatingfaculty in several national and internationalscientific meetings and live operative workshopsand has presented over 300 Scientific Papers. He has successfully conducted 16 editions ofPediatric Laparoscopy Training Courses andtrained over 300 Pediatric Surgeons from India,Nepal and Bangladesh. Has been an active author and has publishedabout 50 scientific articles in journals, authored 16chapters in various textbooks. He has served asan editorial reviewer in 5 reputed journals. Hasbeen an examiner for over 60 theory and practicalexaminations in various Universities across India. He has headed the IGICH Dept of PediatricSurgery for 27 years. Has been an active memberfor several committee including ethical committeeof the Institution. Also led the department ofQuality Assurance for 5 Years. He has served asan Assessor for entry level NABH Certification andhave conducted over 50 assessments of HCOs &SHCOs. He has been the recipient for many prestigiousawards, orations & recognitions like DGBenakappa Memorial Endowment Oration, ParkClinic Oration, Wakhlu-Tandon Oration, PESIOration, Puran Chandra Gupta Award, IAPS-TDorairajan Award to name a few.
