His first job was Lecturer in Paediatrics in Ramaiah Medical College from 1985-1987, followed by fellowship in Australia in Paediatric Cardiology and subsequently did his DM Cardiology from Sree Chitra Trinal Institute, Trivandrum. He has worked in St. John’s Hospital as Associate Professor in Cardiology and in Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman as Sr. Specialist (Paediatric Cardiologist). Before joining Ramaiah Narayana Hrudayalaya, he was a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at Manipal Hospital from 2006-2011 December. His main interest is in popularizing device closures of “holes in heart” in children and making this non-surgical procedure available to the common man. He has been awarded ‘CHILDREN HEART FOUNDATION AWARD’ by CSI in 2008 and the ‘ROTARY CLUB AWARD FOR VOCATIONAL EXCELLENCE IN MEDICINE’ in 2009.
