Praveena Kulkarni from Doha, Qatar:I am a resident of Blore residing at present in Doha Qatar for the last 16 years. I had incisional hernia for the last 8 years. I did not care much as it was not painful, nor was it giving me any trouble. Over the years I noticed that the bulge was growing in size and now being noticed by others too. There was slight discomfort while sitting or doing strenuous work. I took appointment with R.K hospital and was greeted by Dr. Rajeev Premnath; young experienced Surgeon with an enduring smile that put me totally at ease explaining the procedure and the latest technology. Now I had the gut feeling, I was in safe hands and decided to go ahead for the surgical procedure even without a second medical opinion. I underwent surgery on 21st Feb* ****** *** ********** **** * ******** **** The very next day I was made to walk and the fourth day I was discharged. During my stay I was given excellent care round the clock. The nursing staff were excellent, good nutritious timely food according to our health conditions was given. Cleanliness is the top priority in the hospital, duty doctors; the administrative staff are very helpful. Ambiance is good.

What impressed me most was my doctor and surgeon Dr. Rajeev Premnath who is very dedicated, caring loving *** ********* ** *** *****. Even after my discharge and me being back to Doha he is constantly in touch with me giving me all the support and guidance almost every day despite his busy schedule. This is marvellous, although such a busy doctor never fails to answer my queries. I would suggest him to whoever wants to go for hernia surgery.

Dr. Rajeev Premnath is absolutely brilliant!

We had 3 opinions and 3 Ultrasound reports from different places but still weren't able to make a decision because of all the unconvincing opinions given by doctors. The opinions kept changing based on the report and the reports themselves had different results each time! It was very confusing as it was hard to get a definitive answer for a common problem like hernia.

We went to Dr. Rajeev to get a final opinion. He was extremely friendly and was very unique in his clinical consultation procedures.

He was the only doctor in the 4 consultations who didn't look at the reports first as he wanted to do a clinical diagnosis before looking at the reports(so that he wouldn't be biased from what was written in the reports). ** ** ****** *** **** ****** ********** *******

My dad got operated a couple of days later after the consultation and the surgery was performed by Dr. Rajeev Premnath and Dr. Manjunatha(Anaesthetist) who were extremely friendly and kept my dad at ease by having fun conversations! The surgery went great! My dad was able to walk on the same day. He was discharged the very next day.

Almost no restrictions to daily activities.(Needs to wear a belt all the time and shouldn't sit on the floor). The staff at Ramakrishna Hospital were very helpful and very dedicated! The hospital is clean and well maintained as well.

Its slightly unfortunate that such an old hospital in Bangalore with great facilities and staff has gone a bit under the radar. Hoping it receives the recognition it deserves!

I had no idea of what a fistula is. 1 fine summer, my bottom starts aching and I can feel a swelling. My parents thought it was haemorrhoids, some said its due to heat cos i sit and work all day ( don listen to all these home suggestions and remedies... big mistake). In a week's time, the swelling grew.

Manipal Hospital, Old airport road was the nearest to me and I consulted a Gastroenterologist and he sent me to a surgeon in the same hospital. The surgeon said, "Get admitted immediately, pay 1 lakh in advance, tomorrow is your surgery else it will eat more of your tissues blah blah blah". I was put to a state of Panic. I look at the treatment plan he wrote to me and laugh at it even now. I went home and googled and spent the night in reading reviews and crying "Why me ?". Luckily I found few reviews about Dr Rajeev Premnath and his VAAFT treatment etc and thought I will give it a try.

Went to Ramakrishna hospital the next day and consulted the doctor. He examined thoroughly (feels embarrassing the first time to show but u get used to it eventually bcos get prepared to show a million times :P ) and told me dat it looks like a fistula. Neatly drew and explained to me what it is, took some samples to test and prescribed me some medicines. He told me that there is no hurry, 1st go get a TRUS scan and also to do sitz bath parallely because my fistula was already draining by then. I came with the scan after 4 days and by then the medicines and sitz bath worked to some extent by relieving pain and swelling. It was nearly 1/5th the size it was 5 days ago, now. He told me it was near the surface and so did not recommend vaaft but a conventional fistulectomy. The surgery was smooth. I was awake through the surgery and spoke to the doctor throughout. it was over in 20 minutes back to my room, they served good food for the next two days and i was discharged. My next few consultations to show the healing was free. I went again in 2 months with a little discomfort and a scan revealed a small residual tract. It was fixed in another surgery but this one was minor. Got discharged the following day. All this happened in 2017 April and by God's (Actually Rajeev Premnath) grace, im all fine till date.

The doctor is very pleasant to talk to. Patiently addresses all your queries and prescribes only minimal medicines. Hospital charges are nominal. They serve all meals to the patients. Hospital is well equipped and clean.

PS: This is my first review and I am writing it after 5 years only to be sure I am completely cured. I have never written a review ever but this gem of a doctor deserves one. May God give him a very very long life.

*** **** ******* if you are suffering from Piles and related issues he is the doctor to go to. I was suffering from Piles, Fissure for about Three years and later turned to Fistula and Pilodinal Sinus, in total I have suffered for Five and Half years. I used to have bleeding and bad discharge, underwent kharasutra surgery and follow up procedures yet the discharge didn't stop and I told my first surgeon about the recurring problem even after surgery, He told me it's a normal sign and would stop after a while, but it never happened. 2 Years later I underwent another Surgery since the MRI results mentioned there was Fistula and the first surgery wasn't done properly. The surgery was very well done and the fistula was completely removed but my Surgery wound was really wide and deep...had to undergo dressing everyday. Even after 6 months of undergoing Surgery my wound didn't close... Finally met Dr. Rajeev who helped me recover completely. Very good doc, Understood my problem, explained the situation, asked me to undergo a scan and did the necessary procedure and as promised my wound healed completely and I don't have any problem. I'm very happy to write this today as I feel completely fine after struggling for a very long time. I would recommend anyone and everyone who's suffering from any of the problems I had. I was suffering from Anal Fistula. I went to Dr Rajeev after spending around 2 lakhs for 2 failed painful surgeries at Fortis Cunningham. Dr Rajeev explained in detail what's happening and probably why and what's the best treatment. But he told me wait for 2 months to recover from previous surgeries with multivitamins and Sitz bath. Also gave me instructions for do's and don'ts so that the treatment is effective.

After 2 months he told me that he would go for a conventional surgery instead of VAAFT. He removed the fistula successfully and even showed it to me during the surgery. And then the 2 months recovery process. I was finally recovered fully after 1 year of pain and agony.

Dr Rajeev is a good doctor and a good human being. I totally recommend.

Visited Doctor Rajeev with a complicated case of Fistula. Underwent surgery 2 days back and happy with how it has been going. Doctor is well experienced in this field, explained the whole issue and procedure with a lot of patience.

Dr. Rajeev is sweet and caring. He is punctual, hygienic, particular about even the small things. Making sure everything has been done in the right way.

He has also been regularly following up to make sure it's a smooth, pain free process with a healthy healing.

I suffered from pain in my anus while bowel motion over 5 months the most horrible times of my life. I used to do a lot of internet searching and went to a couple of local doctors. They prescribed me different lotions and asked to sit over a hot bath for 10 mins daily. But nothing was able to cure my problem for good. The symtoms used to reccur 3-4 days after I stop those things. I was very dissapointed and frustated and gave up all hope of living a normal life again. Though hospital looks a bit small, it has modern/hi tech facilities and I loved hospital’s ambience. Hospital admin/nursing staffs were friendly, caring and professional. I strongly recommend Dr. Rajeev Premnath, Ramakrishna Hospitals and I’m sure you will never think about consulting another doctor once you meet him!

Got a fistulectomy done from dr Rajeev. The professionalism and care has been exceptional. He is very soft spoken and explained the procedure and after care very patiently.

His team at Ramakrishna is also very good and took care of me during and after procedure very well.
