Dr Priya Raghavan relocated to United Kingdom to pursue a psychiatry career upon completion of undergraduate medical qualification (MBBS) from Bangalore University. Core psychiatry training in picturesque West of Scotland and subsequent career grade post resulted in passing MRCPsych examinations conducted by the Royal College. Thereafter,she completed her 3 year higher specialist training at Aberdeen leading to CCT (Certificate of completion of training) in old age Psychiatry in 2013 that enables individuals to work as consultants in the UK.Dr.Priya Raghavan has since worked as a consultant psychiatrist in NHS Lanarkshire, Scotland covering three busy district general hospitals and several other cottage hospitals.While she enjoyed leading, developing and delivering a robust liaison psychiatry service for Lanarkshire and also delivered services in the community via traditional CMHT (Community mental health team)model, her aim in the longer term is to develop both adult and geriatric psychiatry service in India. As such, she relocated to Bangalore in July 2017.The extensive psychiatry training across various settings has facilitated management of variety of complex psychiatric conditions like depression, dementia, schizophrenia, addiction etc across different age groups presenting with various medicolegal complexities. She is currently working as a psychiatrist at Cadabams Hospital, J.P Nagar Bangalore and has ventured into her own private practice at Healthy Mind Clinic,Vijayanagar,Bangalore.

I had been to Cadabams with my aunt in an emergency situation. My aunt had just undergone a major brain surgery and had lost her mental balance and also had memory loss. At that point of time Dr Priya Raghavan came as a ray of hope for us and she was very successful to understand the confusions and stress that my aunt was going through because of her OCD and brain surgery related issues.She would patiently listen to the patient , attendees and helped us in how to deal with my aunt. Dr Priya was very friendly and at the same time strict towards the patient when they do not follow the instructions given by her.Best thing about Dr Priya Raghavan is she understands along with the patient the whole family goes through the situation and she really boosted us to keep hoping that my aunt will get better and made us understand how my aunt would recover faster with the help of her family.We thank her whole heartedly for all the guidance and patience towards us. I worked under Dr. Priya Raghavan at Healthy Mind Clinic in an internship for around 2 months. Apart from being a guide and mentor to the very delicate field of psychiatry, she also was a great source of inspiration. I was allowed to observe the sessions where consent by patients was granted and the comfort of the patient was her utmost priority. I noticed how she had an expert eye for diverse cases and occurrences of symptoms, how the concepts were on her tips and how she managed different cases with different backgrounds in the most suitable manner. she knows Kannada, Tamil, Telegu, Hindi and English to ensure effective communication. I learnt not only professional etiquette from her but also the basic requirements for such an intricate work. Her connections in the field also seem useful for those who are not looking for psychiatry but related services. i highly recommend Dr. Priya Raghavan as she takes real pain to make her patients feel the most comfortable and best state of themselves.
