Dr Prashanth Nagaraj is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with keen interest in Ilizarov and limb reconstruction surgeries. He graduated from JJM Medical college Davangere scoring first rank and gold medals. He completed his post graduate specialty in Orthopaedics from Mysore. He has worked in various hospitals in India and U.K before joining M.S.Ramaiah medical college as Assistant professor where he taught both undergraduates and post graduates during this period. His keen interest is in treating complex fractures and Limb reconstruction surgeries. He has surgically corrected many complex deformities of limbs in both adult and pediatric patients utilizing sound principles of Ilizarov. Dr Prashanth Nagaraj has conducted many regional, state and national orthopaedic conferences and Hands -on workshops. In my life, I have experienced both extremes.
I have been an ultra-runner, and I have also been someone who struggled just to walk.
My journey began on 15th April 2025 with an accident in which I twisted my ankle, resulting in fractures of the tibia and fibula along with a syndesmotic injury.
I underwent surgery elsewhere, *** ************** *** ** ******** ********** ** **** ** ********** *** ******* *** *** **** **** * *** ***** ****
Due to complications, my ankle became locked, I developed arthritis, and I lost the ability to walk normally. Even the **** physiotherapy could not restore my ankle's mobility.
Over the next six months, I visited multiple hospitals seeking help. Most doctors were reluctant to take up my case. They felt that too much time had passed and told me that there was very little that could be done.
Then I met Dr. Prashanth Nagaraj at Even Hospital Bangalore.
From our very first consultation, one thing immediately stood out to me—he truly listened. He patiently heard my story, spent considerable time reviewing my X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and every other report before forming an opinion. I could clearly see that he was trying to understand every aspect of my condition and preparing meticulously before surgery. It gave me confidence that he was doing everything possible, within his ability, to achieve the **** outcome.
I am not a doctor, but as someone from a technology background, it reminded me of how an experienced engineer approaches a complex software problem. Instead of jumping to conclusions, they first study the bug reports, analyze previous debug logs, understand the existing code, and only then decide on the **** solution. That is exactly how I felt Dr. Prasanth approached my case—with patience, methodical thinking, and genuine care.
Because of that, I was confident that my surgery would have the **** possible outcome, considering my condition.
What impressed me even more was that I could see both confidence and humility in him. To me, that is a wonderful quality. Overconfidence can lead to mistakes, but a doctor who combines confidence with responsibility and careful judgment inspires trust.
Even during the surgery, I could hear the discussions and the thoughtful decisions being made by Dr Prashanth and his assisting surgeon Dr Karthik and the entire team. It reassured me that every decision was based on careful consideration.
From the very first consultation with Dr Prashanth and Dr Karthik, I had a strong feeling that * *** ** **** ***** *** **** he would do everything possible for me. I am happy that my instinct about people proved right once again.
Today, I can walk again—something that once seemed almost impossible. While my recovery is still a journey, getting back on my feet is a gift I will always be grateful for.
There are many excellent doctors, and I have immense respect for all of them. But I truly feel blessed. I believe God gave me another chance at life by leading me to one of the finest doctors and ensuring that I received the **** treatment possible.
Here I must mention that, the entire Even Hospital staff were very cooperative, and caring. Starting from nursing staffs to front office to other technicians.. so polite, so comforting.. I had not experienced that anywhere else.
