Dr. Naveen S. Tahasildar

Dr Naveen Tahasildar has completed his orthopedic residency along with 3 years of additional experience as registrar in spine unit from the prestigious PGIMER University, Chandigarh. He completed a long term Australian Orthopedic Association Accredited fellowship in Melbourne and short term AADO fellowship at Hongkong. He was awarded the Diploma SICOT at SICOT 2011 in Prague. In pursuit for further training in spine surgery, he undertook a combined neurosurgery and orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at Amrita Institute, Kochi. The fellowship involved training in both neurosurgical and orthopedic aspects of spine surgery. He gained experience in microsurgical techniques, deformity corrections and spinal tumor surgeries during this period. He was awarded the SICOT Spine fellowship at Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark in January 2013 and the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) Global Outreach Scholarship award 2013 to attend the prestigious IMAST meeting at Vancouver, Canada. He has presented papers at several international conferences and his research works have been published in a variety of peer reviewed international journals. He has 28 research publications (18 international and 10 national) to his name and these have been cited 289 times in various international papers published in renowned journals. He is a reviewer for national and international spine journals. He has a passion for teaching and is involved in grooming of young spine surgeons as a faculty at national and state level events. He has been the faculty at prestigious AO Spine Scoliosis Week Course 7 times consecutively. During the last 12 years of his career, he has operated on more than 2500 complex spine cases including scoliosis, spinal tumors and revision surgeries. He has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal deformity corrections and spinal tumor surgeries.
