I had consult Dr Maruthesh Gowda on behalf of my father who lives in Bangalore. I stay in Dallas for work purposes.
On routine master health check up my father was found to have gallstones and was advised immediate surgery. I got reference from my another software friend who had consulted him in Bangalore before.
I was so relieved after consulting doctor. Doctor explained about gallstones, what complications it can cause and after looking at all the results he said we need surgery but not as emergency. He explained risks of infection, jaundice and pancreatitis and chances of it happening – 2%/year.
He advised us avoid fatty meals till day of surgery and I have scheduled to travel in 3 months and get surgery at that time. He has assured if any emergency happens he will take care anytime. So relieving.

My cousin developed severe pain suddenly and was panicking. My friend who was in similar condition to mine got great help from Dr Maruthesh Gowda for emergency gallstone surgery (I believe Laparoscopic cholecystectomy) for his wife in Bangalore.
So I contacted him and I can’t thank him enough. My cousin had swelling in her abdomen which was umbilical hernia. Part of small intestine was struck in hernia and she was vomiting all the food she had taken since morning.
Doctor helped her to get admitted as emergency and did emergency umbilical hernia surgery. Since he was able to do it with in 3 hours he was able to save the intestine which was struck without needing it to be removed. He saved my cousin’s life with timely emergency umbilical hernia surgery.
She was back home after 2 days, independent walking and doing her daily activities. I could avoid emergency travel and problems that come with it in current condition.

I had laser Piles and fissure surgery by Dr Maruthesh Gowda one year and had recovered fully with in 1 week. He had advised weight loss during surgery itself and left it me to decide.
When I finally decided to do something about my weight I could not think of any better doctor.
When I went to consult him for weight loss treatment he remembered me from more than year back.
I was not surprised by clarity of thought and treatment and expected nothing less from Dr Maruthesh Gowda. Again no pressure to start treatment immediately. Also no pressure to choose injections for weight loss or surgery for weight loss. Patient is the centre of his treatment whatever the condition is.
I am having mounjaro injectios for weight loss by Dr Maruthesh Gowda. Even though its minimum dose, with help of advise I am able to loose 5 to 6kg/Month. No additional cost other than injections.

Hoped for better: Treatment satisfaction
I consulted this doctor after my blood tests showed elevated bilirubin levels, and jaundice was suspected. Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing.
During the initial consultation, the doctor mainly focused on my blood report and immediately advised further investigations, including an abdominal ultrasound (USG) and several specialized blood culture tests. **** * ***** ******* *** **** he did not spend time understanding my symptoms, asking how I was feeling, or discussing my medical history before recommending additional investigations.
Initially, I was advised to get the USG done first and return with the report, after which it would be decided whether further tests were necessary. I completed the USG, and the results were completely normal. However, during the follow-up consultation, instead of discussing my symptoms or interpreting the normal USG findings in detail, I was advised to undergo four additional specialized blood culture tests.
These tests were not readily available at most diagnostic laboratories, and it took me several days to locate a lab that could perform them. Since culture tests require incubation, I had to wait another week for the results. Eventually, all of those reports also came back negative.
When I tried to meet the doctor again **** ***** ******** * *** ******** **** * ***** **** ** *** ******* ************ *** ******* **** **** * **** *** ******* I explained that the delay was entirely due to the time required for the prescribed tests and that no treatment or medication had been initiated during the previous visits. After some discussion, I was allowed to consult ******* ** ********** ****
Even after reviewing all the negative reports, the doctor did not provide a clear diagnosis or treatment plan. ******** * *** ******* ** ****** *** ***** ******** **** ****** **** ****** * *** ******* ********* *** **** **** **** *** ***** ******** At that point, I felt that there was no clear direction in my treatment, *** *** ***** ******** ** ******** **** ************** ****** **** ************* ** ******** ** ******** ** * ********** By then, my condition had improved on its own.
Based on my personal experience, I did not feel that the consultations were *************** ** empathetic. I expected the doctor to spend more time understanding my symptoms, explain the clinical reasoning behind each investigation, and provide a structured treatment plan ******* ** ********** ************ ********** ****** While others may have different experiences, I personally was not satisfied with the consultation and decided to seek care elsewhere.

I had consulted Dr Maruthesh Gowda for piles and fissure while I was in Bangalore. He had prescribed medications and had told surgery if needed.

Visited For Colonoscopy
The doctor explained everything clearly during the consultation. However, the doctor arrived a bit late and the appointment timing needs to be updated as the doctor usually starts at 5:30 but my appointment was at 5:15. Apart from that, the experience was fine.

I was referred to Dr. Maruthesh Gowda for gallbladder stones after suffering from recurrent abdominal pain radiating to the back for over four years. He had actually recommended surgery a year ago, but I was not ready at that time. When the pain episodes became more frequent and severe this year, I came back to him.
Dr. Maruthesh Gowda ordered a fresh ultrasound which revealed chronic cholecystitis with an overdistended gallbladder, wall thinning, multiple stones, and biliary sludge. He explained the condition clearly, gave me three treatment options with honest pros and cons of each, and never pressured me toward any particular choice. That kind of patient-centered approach is rare.
The surgery — laparoscopic cholecystectomy — was performed on 12th June 2026 at Manipal Hospital Hebbal. The surgical report later confirmed dense adhesions which made the procedure more technically challenging than a standard case. Despite this, the surgery was uneventful. I was discharged the very next morning, able to eat and walk normally.
What impressed me equally was the post-operative care. Dr. Maruthesh Gowda responded promptly to WhatsApp messages throughout my recovery — answering questions about dark stool, skin rashes, and wound changes — each time with clear, calm guidance **** ********* *********** ********
The histopathology report confirmed chronic cholecystitis with no malignancy — exactly what he had diagnosed clinically. The wounds healed well and I was cleared at the 7-day follow-up with no dietary restrictions.
If you are looking for a surgeon who combines technical expertise with genuine patient communication, I would strongly recommend Dr. Maruthesh Gowda. His NHS UK training and experience with complex cases is evident — but what stands out equally is his accessibility and patience with patients throughout the recovery process.
