Dr. Manmeet Singh Chhabra

I would like to share my genuine personal experience with Dr. Manmeet Singh Chhabra, who I believe is an exceptional neurosurgeon and an even better human being.

My father-in-law, 63 years old and a diabetic patient, recently underwent lumbar spinal stenosis surgery under Dr. Manmeet Singh Chhabra. From start to finish, his care was nothing short of extraordinary.

My father is a 81 year old gentleman and he stays in my hometown Muzaffarpur, Bihar. In the year 2017, he was visiting us in Bangalore and one fine morning while taking a walk on terrace he went unconscious and fell down. When he came back in senses, he told us that he had a bad headswing and extreme level of pain on his left hand side of brain. I took him immediately to Manipal Hospital, Whitefield and they did a quick MRI and surprisingly found nothing. After a day, I took him to Dr. KNN Pai at Sagar Hospital, Jayanagar (he is our family doctor who is a physician). Dr. Pai did some checks along with fresh MRI and after seeing the reports he referred us to Dr. Manmeet Singh Chabra. My father complained that from last few months he was getting extreme unbearable pain on his left side of brain and the pain was so high that he couldn't even move an inch. Dr. Manmeet received my father in no time and checked all the reports. He took no time in finding the real problem and shown us the scan report on his desk projector. There were 2 nerves colliding with each other and when ever they were colliding, my father used to get suicidal brain pain. He suggested us 2 ways to cure; 1)- Take Zeptol Cr 200mg thrice a day life long , 2)- Get a brain surgery done to place those nerves well. He told us that if medicines don't help then we will be left with only one solution and that is a surgery. My father decided to try medicines and see. He started taking Zeptol and when he was back to Muzaffarpur after few days, he consulted a local Neuro Physician-Dr. Prakash Kumar Sinha and when he saw the reports he said that yes Dr. Manmeet's diagnosis is absolutely right and there are only 2 solutions as suggested. My father was doing well on Zeptol with no pain for almost 18 months from the time we met Dr. Manmeet. There after he started getting even higher level of pain. I took him to Bangalore again in the month of September, 2019 which was almost after 2 years of meeting Dr. Manmeet. We met Dr. Manmeet on Sept 5th and after doing all the checks and scans we found that now there are 3 veins colliding and that's why more pain. This time we knew that surgery is the only option left with us, we were scared because it's brain surgery. I told my father that lets go and take a second opinion at NIMHANS, he profoundly refused and said that he has great faith in Dr. Manmeet. To be honest, Doctor Manmeet carries human values and we found him very friendly and he used to talk and make my father comfortable by explaining the problem and solution logically and practically. So we decided to get the surgery done at Sagar Hospital and this was done on 10th September 2019. The surgery was for almost 6 hours, morning 6.30 my father entered OT and doctor came out with a smiling face at 12.45 and told us that operation was successful. I could feel the same level of happiness on his face as of mine. It's been 20 days from the operation and my father is fit and fine and he is back on his usual routine. Infact my father had food the next day of operation and from then he has been recovering well. After few days of operation, we went to get the stitches removed and Dr. Manmeet took the effort with very smiling face to do that job himself. He could have got the stitches removed by nurse but he did it himself showing the great care. For us, he is God and we wish and pray that he should be blessed with all the happiness in his life. He is a great great great human being and I am sure that he must be topper of his institute to crack Neuro and become a surgeon. If anyone has any such issues, please do not get conned by roaming around but just go to Sagar Hospital and meet Dr. Manmeet. God bless him.

I met Dr. Manmeet in 3rd week of Oct'20 after consulting 3 other docs. After he went through the MRI report and saw me in person he suggested for surgery. I liked the way he explained the current status and upcoming difficulties of my conditions. Also he explained the procedure of surgery with pros and cons. I was satisfied with his diagnosis and decided for surgery after 2 days. I went through the surgery on 24th and started walking the very next day. Now I am recovering fast and hope to be in absolutely normal condition within few days. Here is why I had no option than going for surgery. After I fully recovered from Covid in Oct'20, one morning I couldn't get up from bed. I started getting severe pain on my left shoulder and arm whenever I tried to sit or stand. I was laying in the bed with this condition for 12 days. This was not sudden as this was an old problem came back after 2017. So after 12 days I visited the same doc and after seeing MRI he suggested for surgery too but he didn't explain anything in details. I was nervous and not confident to go for the same as I had very less information about the surgery and doc was also least interested to explain it to me. So I went for opinion with few other renowned neurosurgeon and most of them suggested for surgery. Finally I got reference of Dr. Manmeet from one of the Orthopedic doc and rest everything I have mentioned already.Dr. Manmeet has good patience to listen every problem/queries you have and also explains the treatment in details. He is well experienced in this field and has ability to give you confidence on the treatment. I would definitely recommend Dr. Manmeet if you have to go through any Neuro surgeries..
