I first met Dr. Madhu kumar for a Gynecomastia correction surgery 3 years ago for a relative. The way it went for him, encouraged me to undergo the same correction surgery. I was super happy with the results.

He is extremely skilled at his profession and is very patient and kind, from the initial consultation he has been extremely responsive and understanding, walking me through the whole process and keeping realistic expectations for the results.

He diagnosed me with Grade II gynecomastia, which required liposuction and gland removal to correct. After fixing a convenient date for the surgery I underwent the surgery under local anesthesia. The surgery took a little over two hours to complete and the doctor kept talking to me and walking through the process the entire duration while also making sure to apply anesthesia in case of pain. I would say as a person with no experience with invasive surgery, the pain was very moderate and I'm grateful the doctor was so patient with me.

First and foremost , I want to thank Dr. Madhukumar for changing my life. I have nothing but respect and admiration for him. I hold his work in high regard and value his words not only because of his professionalism but also his exceptionally kind, understanding and easy going approach.

I had been living with gynecomastia throughout my adolescent years from the age of 13 up until getting the surgery done at 19. . The issue with gynecomastia is that it's more psychologically hurtful than physically troublesome. I had restricted myself from countless activities and habits that any normal person would do or follow on a daily basis. Initially it started with cancelling plans with friends , bailing out on dates , not going on trips with my family and not performing according to my standards academically. It was all i could ever think about.

I played a little FIFA on my phone and was called in when it was time for the surgery. The surgery went smoothly and was way less painful than I expected it to be. After i was discharged , I was told to come for some regular checkups till 6 weeks after the surgery. It has been 6 weeks since the surgery and I absolutely love the results.

I am writing this review 6 weeks after getting done the Gynecomastia surgery from this Clinic, by Dr Madhukumar.

I was drawn to this Clinic for my Gynecomastia condition after a little bit of research on Google and on Practo. I went through tons of reviews which were all positive and well descriptive as well. Since those reviews helped me take this decision of not only becoming more sure about the surgery but also for referring me to this Clinic and Doctor, I believe this could help other people who are going through the same condition & thoughts as I was.

1. Information

On the dot day, I visited the Clinic for the first time, I was given all the information I wanted around the subject and also about my specific case. Throughout the whole process, pre-surgery preparations, during it and post-surgery recovery, whatever information I needed, it was given to me promptly without any confusions.

2. Professionalism

The doctor and the whole staff at the Clinic is very professional. During all of my visits to the Clinic, it was very visible that each person there is working towards the same goal and that is to treat their patients well.

3. Precautions during Covid

Everytime you visit, you are given a mask replacement and you are asked to gargle with betadine and every possible precaution is followed at this place.

4. The Surgery

The Doctor with a great precision told me each detail about my case and the results I should expect post the surgery.

My surgery was done under local anaesthesia and went on for close to 2 hours. Throughout it I was awake and was interacting with the doctor and some staff members. They also played music of my choice to calm my nerves and it did help me relax as I was undergoing a surgery for the first time in life. The staff members helped me whenever I spoke of anything whether it was itching or the discomfort you feel because of staying in the same position for long. I didn't feel any kind of intolerable pain. At some point I was under pain, the doctor gave more anaesthesia in the specific area and it went away. Other than that it was sensations of the skin being pulled or stretched which is expected obviously.

Once the surgery was over, after having some food and drink, I was discharged the same day. I was on pain killers for 3 days which helped because once your body comes back from the numbness, you do feel pain or soreness. I was asked to not stress myself physically at all for a week, though I could join work in 3-4 days. Post surgery recovery is to be taken seriously and the Doctor told me exactly the same.

It has been 6 weeks now and I am well recovered to resume daily life activities with some light exercising. In a month, I can resume proper weight lifting too gradually.

5. Results

Post the surgery, my results are great and it is exactly what was explained by the Doctor. Every time I visited, the Doctor and I looked at side by side comparison of my pre and post surgery pictures and it is remarkable to see how in a short span of merely 6 weeks, my chest looks better and totally different and without any visible signs of scarring.

Final comments-

I have spent 15+ years with a grade 2 Gyno and it is traumatising. Once I am through this surgery process, it is life altering and still seems unreal at times. The only regret I have is not booking this appointment earlier in life.

In my case, the doctor told me that it was too late for hair re-growth treatment as I’d lost a lot of hair and hair transplant surgery was the only option. I knew this was true because none of the hair re-growth treatments that I’d undergone in the past had worked for me. He explained the whole process very clearly in my first visit and also told me what to expect in terms of the result. I thought about this over a few days and finally decided to go ahead with the surgery.

My surgery was fixed in January, and it was a combination of FUE and FUT, to get the maximum coverage on top of the head. So, the surgery had to be carried out on two alternate days to complete. The doctor was really helpful in scheduling the dates as per my convenience. Both pre- and post-surgical instructions were conveyed beforehand and the whole process went really smooth. The surgery was conducted successfully and I had to follow the post-surgery care for the next 6 months. I did not face any side effects. The doctor scheduled regular checkups and the best part is that he was available at anytime for queries or concerns on WhatsApp. I was also advised to undergo laser therapy sessions to help keep and strengthen the old hair on my scalp, which worked.

It has been 8 months since my surgery now, and the result has been quite phenomenal. It has been exactly like what the doctor had told me in the beginning. As expected, there is a nice coverage of hair on the head and I’m really satisfied with the result.

I started loosing hair few years ago. Every few months the hair density was becoming more thinner and less. I was really worried about the future. So I started researching on how to prevent hair loss, how to naturally grow your hair, how to stop hair fall, etc. Over last few years I have gone through many consultant and took suggestion from various doctors. But none of them fixed my hair loss.

Visited different hair transplant center and took their suggestion. Eventually after 3 years of research I have collected all possible information on hair transplant.

I came back and started mail chain with doctors and almost finalized my plan on hair transplants and hair transplant cost.

Dr Madhukumar explained me the process and gave few medicines to take and come on the day. Well, I reached to hospital 6:30 AM morning alone. And the process starts with trimming of hair, few photo session, Blood sample collection. After 1 hour Dr started extraction of hair from back side. It took around 5 hours to extract the 2500 follicles.

Had lunch break for 30 mins. And post lunch Dr started the transplant process on front side. Again, it took around 5 hours to complete the process. Believe me the whole process was hassle free, painless and comfortable. Dr himself does all the process. He does have a complete setup and experienced team member. But still he does all small things himself. Now just imagine where you will get this attention from any experienced doctor. Many place doctor's junior teams will do most of the process.

After completion of all process I went home alone and took 3 days rest. No serious issue in those 3 days, however, I had itching issue (thats normal) and Dr suggested me to take cetrizen and that worked. After 4-5 days I removed the dressing from backside myself only. Visited doctor clinic after 2 weeks and Dr confirmed the entire process looks good. But still I was careful, no helmet, no stress, no physical work for 2-3 weeks. After 2 weeks you can start washing the hair with medicated shampoo.

Did quarterly follow up with the doctor and every time the results were improving. Its been 1 year now and my 90% of the hair have been grown perfectly. I am extremely happy with the results, consultation and doctors feedback.

i had the problem of pubertal persisting gynacomastia since when i was in 8th standard (2003, when i was 15 years of age) but i always thought that it was due to my unhealthy dietary habits. it kept on getting embarrassing till it reached untolerable levels when my friends and peers used to mention it each and everytime. That's when i decided to join the gym (2014 october) and start working out. after eight months of heavy sternous workout, other parts of my body got toned and into shape except my chest where it looked even more prominent as the chest muscles had grown from the exercises, and it pushed the fat more outside.

then i read about it on the internet that i was a case of pubertal persisting gynacomastia and my only option is surgical excision of it. i took opinion from two other plastic surgeons in chennai, where i'm currently working but was little apprehensive.

the surgery (liposuction) was done under local anaesthesia and lasted about one and half hours. during the surgery i didnot feel even an ounce of pain even though being a very anxious and apprehensive patient. i'm really thankful to Dr.Madhu Kumar especially in this aspect.

after the surgery i just had a look at my chest before the compression dressing applictaion and the difference was staggering. i was given a pair of compression dress/pads to wear for atleast six weeks. i had a dressing change and review the next day. i had one course of antibiotics and analgesics for five days post op. minimal pain and tenderness was there at the operated site for two weeks post op, which is very common for all types of surgeries regardless.
