Dr. Kiran Chandra Patro

Dr. Kiran Chandra Patro is a senior consultant Nephrologist at NU Hospitals, Bangalore. After completing his MBBS, he trained to be a Diplomate of National Board in General Medicine. Following this he pursued to be super specialist in kidney diseases and trained to be Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Nephrology. He has an experience of 10 years in Nephrology and about 15 years experience in the field of Medicine. His special interest is in hypertension, diabetes related renal problems, renal dysfunction, glomerular diseases and renal replacement therapy (all forms of dialysis and renal transplantation). He has published his work in various journals and is an active participant in the national and South Indian chapter of the Nephrology Association. He also has teaching experience having taught and trained nephrology students, dialysis fellows, dialysis trainees and nephrology nurses. He is also keen in preventive nephrology and loves to promote the understanding of kidney diseases in the society, for which he has participated in multiple mass media programs. He is also involved in National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and healthcare providers (NABH) documentation, internal audits and updating quality programs of the hospital. He is also a lifetime member of the Indian society of Nephrology.
