After completion of his post-graduation, he worked in Kidwai to gain experience in oral cancer. He trained in the UK and obtained 2 fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Ireland. He gained experience in all aspects of Faciomaxillary surgery and worked as the Senior Registrar at the prestigious St.Barts and Royal London Hospital, which is the oldest hospital in the world. He returned back to India in 1999 and is a consultant Faciomaxillary surgery various super specialty hospitals in Bangalore like NIMHANS, Sagar Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore Institute of Oncology and Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital. He was Professor & Head of Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, RV Dental College & Hospital for 17 years. He has special interests are in cleft lip and palate surgery, oral cancer, correction of facial deformities, facial trauma and craniofacial surgery. He has published more than 25 papers in International journals and has been invited as a keynote speaker in several national and international conferences.He has authored chapters in Hamilton Bailey’s Clinical methods in General Surgery and Le-fort Access Osteotomy in Juvenile Angiofibroma. He was the Vice President of the Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of India and the Ambassador for the International Congress of Oral Implantology.The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has honored him this year with a Fellowship & has appointed him as an examiner for the Membership Exam in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery held at Cairo, Dubai, Bangalore, and Hong Kong.

I had a mixed experience at this dental clinic. The senior/main doctor seems ************* *** professional, but unfortunately the quality of service from the junior doctors was quite disappointing.The doctor suggested a routine teeth cleaning, which normally takes some time to do properly. However, the junior doctor who attended me finished the cleaning in barely 3–4 minutes. During the procedure, the dental instrument she was using was leaking badly. Her assistant even mentioned that he could fix it, but she did not allow him to do so and continued using the faulty equipment.After the quick cleaning, she applied polishing paste, but the polishing instrument was leaking as well. Instead of properly polishing the teeth, she simply wiped the paste off with cotton and said the procedure was complete.For a procedure that lasted only a few minutes and was not done properly, I was charged ₹3000. In most other clinics or hospitals, teeth cleaning typically costs between ₹500–₹1000 and is done much more thoroughly.While the main doctor may be good, the quality of service from the junior staff and the pricing for such minimal work were very disappointing. I hope the clinic improves the quality control of its procedures and equipment.

He gets patients from many different parts of the country, as well as overseas, especially critical cases, or situations where all other dentists have given up. Extremely brilliant with his work, which looks almost effortless thanks to his many many years of practice, it is admirable how he and his equally dedicated and friendly, and above all well skilled team work. The most important thing any patient would want is not to be treated as 'just another patient', but as a human being with real questions, concerns and apprehensions, and Dr. Girish Rao and his team know exactly how to put you at ease and help you focus on just getting better! Not to mention, the quality of work is par excellence, and pre and post care attention, impeccable. The moment I entered their clinic, I just felt rest assured that even my critical case will turn out fine. I do consider myself extremely lucky to have found such a wonderful doctor here in Bangalore.
