Dr. Ganesh Nallur Shivu

Dr. Ganesh Nallur Shivu graduated from Bangalore Medical College in 2000. He undertook internal medicine training in UK and obtained MRCP in 2004. He was awarded the British Heart Foundation project grant for 200,000 pounds which led to his PhD in diabetic cardiomyopathy. He obtained his cardiology training in the All Wales Cardiology Training Program and secured CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in cardiology. He completed his interventional cardiology fellowships in the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK and Morriston Hospital, Swansea, UK. He currently serves on the editorial board of World Journal of Cardiology and Journal of Medical Sciences and Health. He was consultant interventional cardiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals and Kings Mill Hospital, UK prior to moving to BGS Global Hospitals in Bangalore. He currently works at Sparsh Superspecialty Hospitals in Bangalore (Joined March 2016).• He has performed more than 5000 diagnostic angiograms and more than 2000 coronary angioplasties. He uses radial artery as the primary access route for interventions, • He has extensive experience in all adjunctive Coronary Interventional techniques including rotational atherectomy, IVUS, optical coherence tomography, pressure wire evaluation, LASER and distal protection device use. • He is proficient in primary, rescue angioplasty and other complex angioplasty techniques including unprotected left main stem, chronic total occlusion, vein graft and multi-vessel intervention. • He has performed more than 150 pacemaker and ICD insertions. He is also adept at peripheral interventions including femoral, iliac, below knee angioplasty and fistuloplasties.He was British Heart Foundation Research Fellow at University of Birmingham and obtained a PhD following research on diabetic cardiomyopathy. He has published extensively (23 scientific papers) in high quality peer reviewed journals like Circulation and JACC. He has presented abstracts and clinical cases at various international conferences like ACC, AHA, ESC, EuroPCR, BCS and ACI.
