Subsequent to 2 years training in general ophthalmology at the Christian Medical College, Vellore(1988-1990) he joined St. Johns Medical College, Bangalore (1990-2011)as a lecturer & Anterior Segment surgeon with special emphasis on cataract and glaucoma. He left St. Johns as Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology in 2011. He is currently the Medical Director and Consultant in Cataract surgery services at Narayana Nethralaya-3, Ashok Nagar, Bangalore.
