Dr. Avinash Alva

Dr. Alva is Director of sports surgery and joint replacement surgery at Bangalore Hospitals (Jayanagar and Kengeri). Dr. Alva graduated from KMC, Mangalore and completed MS (Ortho) from RGUHS University, Bangalore. He spent 13 years in London and Melbourne accruing international training and exposure in Orthopaedic surgery. He specialises in advanced arthroscopy and muscle sparing joint replacement procedures.His International work experience include specialist orthopaedic training at Northwest London and RNOH Stanmore. His superspecialist accredited fellowships were undertaken at London (Complex knee and elite athlete surgery), Melbourne (Anterior Hip & Knee) and Canberra (Shoulder & Upper Limb).Dr. Alva has published extensively on research in knee cartilage and muscle preserving joint replacement surgery.
