I had cholestatoma mastoid (life threatening disease inside ear) which almost reached my brain wall.

Dr Bhattacharya understood the problem and suggested he can perform surgery endoscopic (without any cut behind ear). I was in a doubt because how this can be treated endoscopic as before coming to Dr Bhattacharya I met with 5 other ENT specialists and nobody told this can be done endoscopic as my situation is very complex and critical . But I trusted Dr Bhattacharya and now after 3 months of surgery I am doing great with good improvent

My child has been suffering from a severe adenoid issue, we visited Dr Bhattacharyya in 2024 for the same, at that time the nasal spray was working and he suggested not to go for surgery till the medicines are responding. This did build a trust that the Dr. is not someone who pushes for surgeries.

Down the line in a year, the breathing problem did not improve very well, giving steroids for long just felt not right to us.

When my child would get cold he would breath from mouth for 2 weeks, he had so many sleepless nights. It was like a nightmare for us, we too could not see our child suffering. so much. We went to many doctors, took suggestions from all and everyone suggested surgery but no one could give us the confidence to go for it. A small 4 year old kid getting anaesthesia and surgery just felt so much of a risk and we as parents/family were scared.

On the other hand we could not handle seeing my child suffer each day. We went to Dr Bhattacharya again, and explained to him our experience. This time Dr Bhattacharya , straight away suggested going for surgery, he spent 30-40 minutes answering each of our questions. We shared with him how scared we are at the same time my child has been suffering for the last 3 years now. Interacting with Dr Bhattacharya we got the confidence to get the adenoidectomy done, we did the CT scan same day and decide to go for it.

Next week we scheduled the surgery, and his coordinator Srabani was also helpful in answering questions and setting things up. Dr Bhattacharya suggested scheduling the surgery early morning like 5 AM, as my kid is small and he needs to be on fasting for a long time, getting it done early morning will make sure he starts eating some food by early afternoon.

The surgery happened on 3rd March early morning, the surgery went well(1+hr), Dr Bhattacharya came before and after the surgery to share words and give us confidence that everything would be much better from now. Surgery ended around 7:30AM, I think it started around 5:30/6AM. Dr Bhattacharya came and told us how the surgery went, and it was the right decision to get the Adenoidectomy done as the tissues were getting inside the ear of my child, this could have started hampering his listening power drastically in coming months.

Following the surgery, we struggled to keep our child calm because he was in shock, unsure of what had happened. Getting so many antibiotics and cannula was just hard. My kid was so supportive he went through so much not just surgery but the adenoid issue for years. We left for home the same day in the night, Dr Bhattacharya also suggested we go unless it's urgent and serious.

At home things were a little better, for 1 week there were a bunch of medicines to be given.

After a long week, relief arrived as my child slept soundly and peacefully, without any snoring. For the first time in three years, he slept through the entire night without waking up due to breathing difficulties.

Since then life has changed like a flip of a coin. My kid does not breathe from mouth, he eats ice cream, he goes swimming, he takes bath everyday, he sleeps like a bear, he does not get sick every 2-3 weeks any more.

For us , life has changed, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Dr Bhattacharya.

BRIEF

I am having hypertension and diabetes for the last 15 years. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with OSA(obstructive sleep apnea) after 'sleep test' by a pulmunologist. But my sleep was not sound and the nose used to get blocked after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and then I was forced to remain awake with sleep deficit day after day. This was even after usage of CPAP machine night after night.My workplace is UAE and whenever I visited Bangalore my nose used to get clogged which required me to visit doctor. In fact I was recommended to go for surgery of Deviated Nasal Septum(DNS).

My 5yo son had been suffering with frequent infections, snoring, obstructive and paused breathing during his sleep for the past 1yr.We tried multiple therapies (steroid spray, homeopathy, etc) over an year, but nothing helped, infact it all worsened in 2023. We eventually decided to take necessary actions to help our son and met Dr. Diptarka Bhattacharya after weeks of online research for best doctors, reading through their patient reviews and evaluation, as surgery was necessary in my son's case and he was too young for it. We were pretty scared as it was the first surgery in the family.Based on Dr Diptarka suggestion, a CT scan was done and doctor said my son needs Tonsilectomy, Adenoidectomy and a minimal Sinus surgery.We were apprehensive particularly about the Sinus surgery due to the age of my son and the risks involved. couple of months back we visited Dr. DIPTARKA in Apollo Sarjapur clinic. seeking treatment for my wife’s hoarse voice. I am very impressed with Drs. knowledge, friendliness and his great listening skills. initially he thought it is due to some throat infection and gave medicines for a week. when there is no improvement, he immediately used camera and noticed a RIGHT VOCAL CHORD LESION. we were panic and worried what it could be. this is where great dr. in DIPTARKA came out and he made us not to worry about it and he was in constant touch with us thru whatsapp though he is on vacation after long time. He came back and I met him immediately and again I have seen the great qualities of a great dr. He spent more than 30 mins just to explain what the issue is and when I was apologetic for asking too many questions, he said ‘ Your wife is like my family member. I will explain and answer all your questions in the same way I will explain it to my family member’ I was speechless for his humbleness and treating his patients as his family members. I was very much relieved after hearing him and with no hesitation agreed to go for a surgery to remove the Lesion. Finally we admitted her after all the pre investigations and Dr. came to us again before the surgery and explained all the details and made us comfortable. He completed the surgery in an hour or so and immediately shared the happy news of successful surgery. He came out with happy face and explained how he performed the surgery. He made us not to stay in hospital more days and asked us to revisit in a weeks time. In all these days he was in continuous touch with me asking about the changes. We revisited him after 10 days and he noticed the surgery part is healing well. he also explained us about the Biopsy report and next steps. He suggested us to go for Voice therapy sessions and connected us to the right Voice Therapist. Right now, my wife is going thru voice therapy sessions and we are hoping she will talk to us loud and clear voice.
