Dr. Adil Sadiq has the distinction of probably being the only Cardiac surgeon in South India who is trained in Robotic Cardiac surgery. He is one of the very few surgeons in the country, who has extensive experience in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, including endoscopic approaches and is one of the very few surgeons performing Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) in this part of the country. He has considerable experience with Percutaneous Transcatheter Implantation of an Aortic Valve (valve replacement via the groin), being part of the team that had pioneered its clinical use. He has performed over 4500 Cardiac Surgeries, 1600 thoracic procedures and 65 Heart and Lung Transplants which speak volumes about his success in critical surgeries. His practice encompasses the entire spectrumCardiothoracic & Vascular surgery, with special focus on minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, total arterial beating heart revascularisation, complex redo-heart surgery, valve repairs and congenital cardiac surgery.Having completed his medical degree from Bangalore medical college, he did his Masters in General Surgery from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. Even after completing a Masters his zeal for study never receded, he wanted to delve deeper into the Cardio Sciences and pursued super-Specialty training in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery from the prestigious Sree Chitra Institute, which developed India’s only commercially available prosthetic heart valve and membrane oxygenator.

Dr. Adil Sadiq is one of the **** doctors we have ever met. It is not just because of his expertise as a CTVS surgeon but also as a very kind, gentle and empathetic human being, who cares for the patient as well as the family. Our mother suffered a heart-attack in the month of April 2024, but we were fortunate enough to get to a hospital on time. Doctors advised that she needed a bypass surgery based on the angiogram reports. We were all heartbroken as we didn’t have much idea about bypass surgery. We came to find that these days bypass surgery can be done robotically, which saves much trauma of the open heart surgery. After much research and meeting a couple of Cardiologists and a few CTVS surgeons we finally happened to meet Dr. Adil Sadiq at Sakra Hospital, who is an expert in robotic bypass surgery. We did have to wait for a couple of days to get an appointment. But, after meeting him we could finally make up our minds, as he took the necessary time to go through the reports and answered all our questions and clarified our doubts. We didn’t bring the patient initially, to which Dr. said that it is as important for a patient to see the Doctor as it is for a Doctor to see the patient. The surgery was successfully done in the beginning of June. We were very anxious on the day of the surgery waiting for hours since morning, but to our great relief Doctor Sadiq called us right after the surgery to the operation theatre and gave the good news that everything went well and mentioned that we could see the patient in the ICU after a few hours. My mother always mentions the surgeon's exceptional care when he came for rounds in the ICU. As promised by the surgeon during our first meeting, my mother was made to walk before discharge from the hospital as we couldn’t imagine that happening after seeing mom lying in the ICU after going through such a major surgery.Even after the surgery, the surgeon and his dedicated team made sure that my mother is recovering well and that the wounds are healing. So, We would also like to thank the entire team, specially Mr. Mohan, Mr. Varghese, Mr. Anandu, who ensured her proper recovery. We would also like to thank Tarangini Mam who coordinated all the appointments and hospital procedures, making the entire process smooth and stress-free.Now, it has been 5 months since the surgery and my mom has been recovering well. We had a couple of follow-up consultations with the surgeon and he never fails to impress us with his extraordinary care and compassion. We wish Dr. Adil Sadiq a long life filled with happiness and success. May he continue to save lives and bring hope to many families, just as he did for ours.

I have visited Dr Adil Sadiq for my father on 22nd March 2017. There is a hole in my father’s Aorta Valve, so we had to replace the valve. He was also having chest pain. We have first visited Narayan institute of cardiac science and met Dr Devi Shetty. Before that in Nov 2016 we have tried to replace the value in Kolkata R N Tagore hospital ( A subsidiary of Narayana Group Dr Atanu). They didn’t check the report properly after Opening the heart they found lots of Calcium in heart which they should have found in angiogram or doing ECG. Finally they failed to replace the valve and they Billed around 1.68 lacs. The services was pathetic. Doctors are unprofessional.
I will tell you another example. On the day of OT they have informed we have to arrange three bottle of blood. They have informed in the morning only when Operation scheduled at 12 Pm . If we are not able to collect blood they will not perform Operation.
Coming to Narayana Institute of Cardiac Science. I had to wait entire three days in hospital after taking appointment. They will not give you a fixed timing. Dr Shetty told us they will perform surgery the cost will be 8 lacs. Just think about that where all the valve replacement in INDIA will cost around INR 2 to 3 lacs. I am able to do my father’s surgery in less than half of what Narayana Hospital was asking. I am able to save my father’s live because of Dr Adil & his team. Thank you so much Dr Adil and his team you made us happy again.
Finally we met Dr Adil Sadiq and his team. The day we meet doctor we understood this is the right place. Dr Adil listened carefully and explain all the details in very simple language. Also he told the risk associated with surgery.
** **** ***** *** *** **** ** **** ** *** ******** I really believe they should be No 1 hospital in India. The environment and hospitality in SAKRA WORLD Hospital was really cool. I have visited many hospital in Kolkata and Bangalore. I can tell You SAKRA is best hospital. You can feel the difference in every aspect. All the doctors and nurses are very cooperative and concerned about patient. You will not feel the same in other hospitals.
Now this is for my Bengali friend and People from Bangladesh, Don’t go blindly to Dr Devi Shetty rather visit SAKRA Hospital. Narayana Hospital is just sucking Our hard earned money. Dr Adil has also 17 years of Experience. He also posses degree MS (General Surgery), MCH (CTVS),FACS(USA),FMICS(USA). He is very humble and down to earth person. Your disease will go away 50% if you know the doctor really care.
I don’t know about the world. *** * *** ****** **** *** ** ** *** **** ******* ******* ** ***** ** **** *******
Dr. Adil personifies warmth and care. Talk to him for 10 mins and you would be totally confident and courageous to follow his suggestions. My sister was diagnosed with OS ASD. We were referred to him by his colleague Dr. Deepak Krishnamurthy at Sakra. Dr. Adil Sadiq spoke to us about the issue. Explained it in detail. Demonstrated the proposed procedure and assured us the benefits. I, for sure was very convinced by his patient engagement skills.
We took our time to assimilate the situation. The issue before us, was a surprise to us, as my sister was asymptomatic. Between diagnosis and decision to go ahead with surgery, it took us about 2 weeks and in the mean time I was trying to gather as much information as possible about the place, process and persons to make a decision. To be frank, at the end of two weeks I had the same conviction as on Day 1; that is, lets get the procedure done with Dr. Adil Sadiq at Sakra World Hospital. Nothing could bolster me to decide otherwise.
With the persuite to follow up and take this journey to a logical conclusion I approached Dr. Adil Sadiq by writing him an email about my concerns and seeked his clarification on few points that were required for us to make this big decision as a family. He was kind enough to write back promptly addressing each of my concerns.
Dr. Adil Sadiq is very approachable, I was fortunate to engage with him on WhatsApp and clarify few things. Finanly once we decided the date of admission and tenantive dates of procedure, I didn't have to do anything extra. His office at Sakra was completely prepared to accomodate us as per the plan.
To summarize the hospitalization; It was indeed a very smooth experience; with absolutely no scope to complain on any front. On the date of admission angiogram was performed and the results were discussed. In our case it was all good; so the only outstanding issue as far as my sister's heart is concerned was ASD and it was decided that it will be closed by surgery the following day. We were shifted to ward; the nursing staff under Dr. Adil requires a special mention, they know their job very well. As an attendee, I was present there as a physical point of contact, other than that everything was taken care by the staff.
One more confidence boosting event happened in the evening before the procedure. Team Dr. Adil Sadiq arrived in batches as per their area of expertise, they introduced and explained about their role in the procedure. Next came Dr. Adil's associate surgeon Dr. Ravichandan. He explained to me in detail about the procedure. They ensure that we know what is going to be done. Finally came Dr. Adil Sadiq to ensure we are at peace and have faith in the process.
One more interesting fact about Sakra; I had arranged about 7 donors and only two got eligible for donation. Eventually it was more than sufficient as not even a single drop of blood was transfused; it did panic me in the beginning; but later got to know from Dr. Adil Sadiq that at Sakra they don't sell blood; hence they ensure the highest quality in collection of blood. He assured me that they have the requisite units of blood in place and I need not worry.
The day of procedure was very professionally handled. They took my sis around 8:30 in the morning. I was asked to leave my mobile number with the OT security and I will be informed of the progress from time to time. After every phase of the process I was called and informed the status and condition of my sis. After a marathon 6 hours procedure, Dr. Adil Sadiq came and met me. He is indeed a man of steel; how can someone be so calm and composed after a 6 hour operation; I was literally awestruck. He explained to me and comforted me by saying everything is fine and the operation was successful. Later from the security I came to know that Dr. Adil Sadiq is the first man to get into OT and the last to be out. Hats off Sir, your dedication is supreme.
A brief about Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery labelled as LIS (Least Invasive Surgery) at Sakra. It is a highly advanced technology assisted process, which creates less damage in terms of surgical cuts and blood loss and helps in faster recovery. And I must say Dr. Adil and team performed it with text book precision. I, in my capacity could actually relate my sister's recovery progress and I can say every aspect of her was in alignment with the data points I had collected about this method of surgery.
Post operation care is execellent. The support staff know their job and they execute it with utmost professionalism. I aboslutely had no scope to complain.
Thank you Sir. Your contribution in terms of a new lease of life to my sister and peace of mind to the rest of us in the family is priceless. We really cannot thank you enough.
Thanks and warm regards,
Dev
