Dr. Rakshathi Basavaraju

She is the Director and Consultant Psychiatrist at Manosuraksha - Nurturing Minds, Jayanagar, Bengaluru. She has obtained her MD in Psychiatry from National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS). She holds extensive experience in treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders in adults like Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Substance Use Disorders, Depressive and Anxiety disorders, Dementias and Personality disorders. In addition to pharmacotherapy, she also provides psychotherapy sessions for patients combining techniques from Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She is trained in repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) which is a modality that uses magnetic stimulation of the brain to treat medication-resistant psychiatric disorders. She believes in mental health care being a team work and hence works with a multidisciplinary team comprising of 6 clinical psychologists, 1 couple/family therapist, 1 yoga therapist, 1 neuropsychologist and 1 neurologist at Manosuraksha who offer psychological assessments, psychotherapy/counselling, yoga tailor-made for mental health conditions and cognitive retraining.
