Dr. Priya Puri is a registered Clinical Psychologist with 10 years of experience in the area of mental health. She has done her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from NIMHANS (Institute of National Importance), Bangalore. She is also registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India.She is thoroughly trained in various forms of psychotherapies and has treated individuals with a variety of mental health concerns. She is trained in Mentalization Based Treatment approach (basic level) under Prof. Anthony Bateman, Anna Freud Centre, London and in Schema Therapy from the Schema Therapy Institute, Australia. Further, Dr. Priya also underwent a 6 week long training in trauma-informed psychotherapy from Anaahat Psychotherapy, Mumbai. At present she is undergoing training in EMDR therapy from the EMDR Association, India.​Further, it is important to highlight that as a clinician she is LGBTQ Affirmative and trauma-informed. Her therapy style generally involves focusing on the client's unexpressed/unresolved emotions and helping them deal with it in an adaptive way, identifying their strengths and using them to empower the clients. Dr. Puri uses a trauma-based approach to help the clients deal with their emotions, thoughts, traumatic memories and associated bodily sensations, thereby focusing on holistic healing and not just symptom resolution.
