I have had headache/migraine issues for a long time. For the past few days a new pattern developed where my vision blurs in one eye and then it culminates into a headache. My eye doctor suggested I consult a nuerologist so I went to Dr Agarwal. He was not interested in my history. ** *** ** *** **** I was giving a thorough history of my headache and asked me to only answer his questions. He asked me questions about the nature of the headache. Then he asked about my job. Within 5 minutes, ** ******* I was stressed in my job just because I sleep at 12 due late night meetings a couple of times a week. He asked me to stop running after money and quit my job. Please be advised that he only asked for what I do and nothing about how stressful is my job. BTW I love what I do and other than sleeping at 12 my job does not give me any stress. I would much rather have a stress free job which I love where I sleep at 12 midnight rather than a 9-5 hectic and stressful nightmare.After 5 more minutes of lecturing he gave me a prescription which had a routine I MUST follow and some medicines and a dictat to quit my job. To be fair, he did bring up the lack of exercise in my daily routine and I agree with that part of his diagnosis. Dr. Munia is an amazing psychologist who used her skills and experience to guide me through a plethora of mental health challenges from anxiety, depressive thoughts, confidence issues, and academic abilities.

She used various forms of therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy to help me change parts of my thought process, thereby ensuring that the very core of the problem was addressed, rather than finding stopgap solutions. While I was sceptical of feeling sufficient change in 10 odd sessions, I feel a significant improvement in all we have worked on.

Dr. Munia was flexible in the scheduling of our sessions to work around my other work and travel commitments, and not once did I feel pressured to go with a plan I was not comfortable with.

Not hesitating to make changes to our original councelling plan, Dr. Munia was attentive to my progress, and adapted to any new or altered needs on the spot.

Today, I walk away with the knowledge that I can reach out anytime as needed, with the feeling that I am stronger than before, can use my new found thought processes and coping mechanisms to deal with challenges in the future, and that these struggles shall be a stepping stone in my life rather than something that weighs me down.
