I am writing this review 6 weeks after getting done the Gynecomastia surgery from this Clinic, by Dr Madhukumar.

I was drawn to this Clinic for my Gynecomastia condition after a little bit of research on Google and on Practo. I went through tons of reviews which were all positive and well descriptive as well. Since those reviews helped me take this decision of not only becoming more sure about the surgery but also for referring me to this Clinic and Doctor, I believe this could help other people who are going through the same condition & thoughts as I was.

1. Information

On the dot day, I visited the Clinic for the first time, I was given all the information I wanted around the subject and also about my specific case. Throughout the whole process, pre-surgery preparations, during it and post-surgery recovery, whatever information I needed, it was given to me promptly without any confusions.

2. Professionalism

The doctor and the whole staff at the Clinic is very professional. During all of my visits to the Clinic, it was very visible that each person there is working towards the same goal and that is to treat their patients well.

3. Precautions during Covid

Everytime you visit, you are given a mask replacement and you are asked to gargle with betadine and every possible precaution is followed at this place.

4. The Surgery

<I am going to add some extra details about the surgery process because it helped me going ahead with the surgery when I could read such details sitting with my laptop at home>

The Doctor with a great precision told me each detail about my case and the results I should expect post the surgery.

My surgery was done under local anaesthesia and went on for close to 2 hours. Throughout it I was awake and was interacting with the doctor and some staff members. They also played music of my choice to calm my nerves and it did help me relax as I was undergoing a surgery for the first time in life. The staff members helped me whenever I spoke of anything whether it was itching or the discomfort you feel because of staying in the same position for long. I didn't feel any kind of intolerable pain. At some point I was under pain, the doctor gave more anaesthesia in the specific area and it went away. Other than that it was sensations of the skin being pulled or stretched which is expected obviously.

Once the surgery was over, after having some food and drink, I was discharged the same day. I was on pain killers for 3 days which helped because once your body comes back from the numbness, you do feel pain or soreness. I was asked to not stress myself physically at all for a week, though I could join work in 3-4 days. Post surgery recovery is to be taken seriously and the Doctor told me exactly the same.

It has been 6 weeks now and I am well recovered to resume daily life activities with some light exercising. In a month, I can resume proper weight lifting too gradually.

5. Results

Post the surgery, my results are great and it is exactly what was explained by the Doctor. Every time I visited, the Doctor and I looked at side by side comparison of my pre and post surgery pictures and it is remarkable to see how in a short span of merely 6 weeks, my chest looks better and totally different and without any visible signs of scarring.

Final comments-

I have spent 15+ years with a grade 2 Gyno and it is traumatising. Once I am through this surgery process, it is life altering and still seems unreal at times. The only regret I have is not booking this appointment earlier in life.

I first met Dr. Madhu kumar for a Gynecomastia correction surgery 3 years ago for a relative. The way it went for him, encouraged me to undergo the same correction surgery. I was super happy with the results.

The entire approach towards the procedure, starting with the identification of the extent of the issue, the diagnosis was excellent. This makes it a wonderful experience and the taboo for a man is removed with a smile.

I was suffering from hair loss for the last 10 years. I had visited a couple of doctors in the past for remedy, but none of the treatments yielded proper results. I consulted Dr. Madhukumar for the first time during December 2019. He is courteous and the kind of doctor who listens to and understands the problem his patients really well. In my case, the doctor told me that it was too late for hair re-growth treatment as I’d lost a lot of hair and hair transplant surgery was the only option. My surgery was fixed in January, and it was a combination of FUE and FUT, to get the maximum coverage on top of the head. So, the surgery had to be carried out on two alternate days to complete. The doctor was really helpful in scheduling the dates as per my convenience. Both pre- and post-surgical instructions were conveyed beforehand and the whole process went really smooth. The surgery was conducted successfully and I had to follow the post-surgery care for the next 6 months. I did not face any side effects. The doctor scheduled regular checkups and the best part is that he was available at anytime for queries or concerns on WhatsApp. I was also advised to undergo laser therapy sessions to help keep and strengthen the old hair on my scalp, which worked.

i had lived with grade 2 gyno issues for over 17 years and the condition had a ,major affect on every aspect of my teenage and adult life. the consultation by Dr Madhukumar was very detailed ,informative ,His detailed explanation on the procedure/surgery took away any concerns i had regarding the surgery since i had never gone under the knife before and the Doctor was very assuring .I had waited close to 2 decades to get rid of my condition and after finding someone like Dr madhukumar i couldn't wait any longer. I am writing this message after 50 days of my gynecomastia surgery. I am very happy with the results and the short recovery time.I have had gynecomastia from early teens, but it took me a long time till i am 37 yrs old to do the surgery. It is life changing and I should have done this much much earlier in my life.I had visited Dr Madhukumar in 2016 and wanted to do the surgery back then. But for my own reasons, it took 4 more years to be confident to do the surgery.May be everything in life has to happen, when the time is right.I visited Midas clinic again on 21st Nov 2020, during covid situation. The clinic has taken all the precautions needed to handle the new normal and I felt very safe.Doctor has explained the procedures in detail and have asked me to take few tests prior to the surgery. Once the test results were all Ok, my surgery was scheduled on 28th Nov 2020.On the day of the surgery I have reached the clinic 8am and by 12:30 pm the entire procedure was done and I could return back to home.The surgery was done in local anesthesia and was done with very minimal pain.After 2 days the bandages were removed and since the stitches were self absorbing one, there was no necessity for stich removal. Second day itself my results were very satisfactorily, no visible scars.I was advised to wear compression vest for 6 weeks, which was not any in convenience. He is extremely skilled at his profession and is very patient and kind, from the initial consultation he has been extremely responsive and understanding, walking me through the whole process and keeping realistic expectations for the results.

He diagnosed me with Grade II gynecomastia, which required liposuction and gland removal to correct. After fixing a convenient date for the surgery I underwent the surgery under local anesthesia. The surgery took a little over two hours to complete and the doctor kept talking to me and walking through the process the entire duration while also making sure to apply anesthesia in case of pain. I would say as a person with no experience with invasive surgery, the pain was very moderate and I'm grateful the doctor was so patient with me.

After the surgery I was required to wear a compression vest for 6 weeks and given a set of strict guidelines to follow *** **** ******** *** ******* ***** * ***** ** ****** ** **** ** * ***. I visited Doctor Madhukumar for Gynaecomastia surgery and would like to share my experience.

Anyone who has gynaecomastia can understand the difficulty of living with it. It is not a serious condition, but still manages to shatter the confidence. I read about this condition early on in my life, but thought that it could be treated by working out. At least that's what the gyms told me. It's almost impossible for a person to discuss about this with anyone, including family. I finally mustered up the courage to visit a doctor and get a professional opinion. I went through many portals and saw that Dr Madhukumar is highly recommended for this exact problem.

First Consultation : Dr Madhukumar had very strict covid protocols in place, which in turn made me feel more comfortable. He examined me and confirmed my condition and very patiently explained the probable causes and surgery options. He was honest and clear in his advise. He mentioned that this is not a medical urgency and there will no other implications apart from cosmetic issues. He showed a lot of examples and images and set my expectations right. It was clear that I will not be able to get rid of this issue completely, but we will work towards improving it significantly. He informed me about the post operative care and the compression garment that has to be worn. He also told me about all the possible complications that can happen and how we will handle them.

The thought of having a surgery freaked me out and I was worried about long term issues and about all the things that can go wrong. I thought that I can start gym again and lose some fat around the chest area and maybe that would be enough to hide it under a t-shirt. I saw no difference at all and finally one day I decided to book an appointment for surgery.

Surgery : Dr Madhukumar sent me a set of pre surgery instructions and was always available for any questions that I might have. The surgery went smooth and was mostly painless. Doctor kept me informed during the procedure about what he is doing and also if it will sting a bit. It took more than usual time in my case because of the amount of tissue removed. After the surgery he made me rest for a while and showed me how to wear the compression garment.

Post Surgery : I had to avoid lifting anything heavy for a few weeks and rest for a few days and wear the compression vest. If we follow all the instructions given by the doctor, there is minimal chance of complications. I had regular follow up appointment and the doctor did not charge for them. He was always available on whatsapp and answered my questions. I would panic that I have injured myself and have some complications and would send pictures to the doctor. He patiently replied to my every text. My family made sure that I was comfortable and did not have to lift a finger for anything. Without this support, recovery would have been unimaginable for me. I was able to work after 3-4 days.

Result : After a week or so, when the swelling reduced and I got a bit more comfortable, I was able to see significant improvement. I purchased a round neck t-shirt for the first time in my adult life. I am very happy that I went ahead with it and would recommend any person facing a similar problem to meet Dr Madhukumar if they are able to.

Gynecomastia Surgery - Grade 2B - 22M

I'm originally from Mysore, but I couldn't find any good gyno surgeons in my city. That's why I had to look for experienced surgeons in Bangalore.

At first, I had shortlisted many doctors in Bangalore. Initially, Dr. Madhukumar's Midas Cosmetic wasn't on my list, but I saw a post on the Gynecomastia subreddit where a Bangalorean had praised him for great results ***** ** ************************************************** *.

After reading this redditor's story, I visited their website, where they have shared more than 100 before and after pictures of gynecomastia surgeries. This made me add Dr. Madhukumar to my list.

Before the surgery, I had consulted many surgeons, but I finalized Dr. Madhu kumar as he had posted a lot of before and after pics. I liked his transparency ! After having a 1 hr long consultation, I was very convinced that he's a great surgeon.

About the Surgery:

He performed the procedure under local anesthesia. He gave me a few pre-op instructions: not to eat or drink after 9 PM the night before the surgery, to shave the chest area, etc. I went to his clinic at 9 AM. He took me to the operating theater around 9:30 AM. Initially, he took pre-op photos, made markings on my chest, and had me lie down on the operating chair. They covered my eyes completely, so I couldn't see anything, but I could feel sensations since the anesthesia was local.

Initially, while injecting the anesthesia solution and making incisions (holes), it was painful. For 5-6 times, it felt like the doctor was pinching me with sharp pins. In some areas, the anesthesia didn't reach properly, causing pain in those spots. Additional anesthesia injections were given to those spots to make sure the pain is minimal. Overall i would say the pain is completely bearable.

The surgery took about 3 hours to complete. At 12:45 PM, I was taken out of the Op theater and covered with a tight compression vest. At 1 PM, I had lunch, and everything was done.

I had minor swelling after the surgery, which went away after one week. I was discharged the same day around 3 PM.

Talking About Post-Op Care :

On the first day after getting home, I had very minimal pain. Every hour, for 2-3 times, it felt like someone was pinching me with sharp pins. I was told not to make any shoulder movements.

For the first 3 days, I took painkillers, so I didn't feel much pain. 24 hours post-op, I went to the clinic again for a check-up. The doctor removed my vest and bandages to check for any blood clots or leaks. It was all fine. He told me I could take bath starting from the third day.

From the third day, I didn't feel any pain in my chest. There was slight discomfort due to the tight compression vest. I stopped taking painkillers on the third day.

96 hours post-surgery, I could make shoulder movements up to only 20-30 degrees.

After 1 week, I could start brisk walking and move my shoulders up to 90 degrees.

After 2 weeks, the doctor told me to stretch my shoulders completely.

For the first two weeks, I wore button-up shirts as I wasn't supposed to make shoulder movements. From the 2nd week, I started wearing T-shirts.

I was told to strictly wear the compression garment all the time, even while sleeping. I can remove it only while taking a bath. If it's not worn all the time, it may lead to seroma (fluid) formation. That's why it's important to wear it constantly. After 6 weeks, it can be removed.

Final results will take around six weeks, but after a week, you may get a clear picture of how your post-op results look. You can join the office or resume your daily work after a week with minimal shoulder movements.

Talking About My Results :

They are in great shape now. If I wear any T-shirt, it looks totally flat.

I didn't get any seroma, hematoma, or any other problems after the surgery.

When I was young, I was very fat and chubby, but eventually, I lost a lot of weight. The doctor said my skin has lost its elasticity as I have repeatedly gained and lost weight, due to which the skin might not stick well to the underlying fat even after the surgery. Currently, I can notice a few loose skin on my chest (below the nipple area). He said if I build up muscle in the chest area, the skin will also look good and come into good shape. I could have gone for skin tightning or skin excision , but he said it is not necessary for my case.

Overall, I am very happy with my results. The problem of loose skin has nothing to do with the surgeon, and very minor deformities will be present in every surgery, which will most likely settle itself in the long run.

Now, 6 weeks post-op, I have resumed all my routine activities. I feel very confident about my body now !

Before this, I was very bothered about my gyno. Every time I stepped out of my house, I used to wear a tight compression vest to hide it to some extent. On top of that, I used to wear pullovers and hoodies even in the summer to cover up my gyno. Working out or going for a jog in these outfits was not easy for me. I always looked very odd in the crowd, and many times people would stare at my gyno, which was highly embarrassing. I never wore T-shirts, and even finding a shirt with a perfect fit was a headache. I used to avoid going on trips with my friends and to religious places where men need to remove their shirts completely.

Now, after the surgery, I can wear any kind of outfit, including T-shirts. I can walk around anywhere and jog without having to worry about my gyno. This has given me a stronger motivation to work out and hit the gym every day to maintain my shape.
