Dr. is a Senior Consultant Diabetologist practicing at Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai, & Dr. Rai’s Diabetes Specialty Centre, Kharghar. He has over 35 years of experience in the comprehensive management of diabetes and its complications. He previously served as Consultant Physician at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Currently, he is the Unit Head and Senior Professor, Department of Medicine & In-Charge of the Advanced Centre of Diabetes Care & Research at the MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, a 1000-bedded, state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital.Dr. Rai has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) UK, Fellowship of the American College of Physicians (FACP), USA, and Fellowship of Diabetes India. He is a Keynote International Speaker at Global Health Conferences sponsored by the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO). He has also served as Guest Faculty at Mayo Clinic (USA) International Diabetes Symposiums, and attended Cleveland Clinic (USA) Advanced Diabetes Courses. He is a National Speaker at prestigious conferences RSSDI, International Diabetes Summit &World Congress of Diabetology etc. Dr. Rai practices evidence-based diabetes management through a multidisciplinary team following American Diabetes Association (ADA) clinical protocols. He has successfully treated many patients from all across India and abroad. For his outstanding contribution to medicine and Nation building, he has been conferred with the prestigious Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, life time achievement, National Award.
