She is extremely soft-spoken, patient, and made me feel completely at ease. She took the time to explain my infection in detail, answered all my questions without rushing, and ensured I was comfortable throughout the consultation. I rarely write reviews, but this one truly comes from the heart. A few weeks ago, I found myself in the middle of a health scare I never saw coming. What started as delayed periods and severe cramping turned into heavy bleeding, unbearable pain, and eventually, anemia. Even after my cycle ended, the pain lingered. My regular gynaecologist suspected endometriosis and prescribed medication, but things only got worse.

At 5 a.m., in complete distress and unable to bear the pain, I booked the earliest available doctor on Practo—and that’s when Dr. Smitha Shukla entered my life like a miracle. Despite having back-to-back surgeries, she called me personally. With just a few thoughtful questions, she suspected a possible ectopic pregnancy (which can be fatal) and immediately advised me to take a pregnancy test at home. When it turned out negative, she told me to take a Combiflam and monitor the pain.

But to my surprise and relief, she called again just 15 minutes later, asking me to come to her clinic immediately, as she felt my condition could be serious. Even though the clinic wasn’t officially open yet, she arrived early—between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m.—just to attend to me. She examined me thoroughly, arranged for on-the-spot blood tests, and coordinated with a nearby diagnostics center for an urgent sonography and transvaginal scan.

By late afternoon, the results were in. It wasn’t endometriosis. It wasn’t an ectopic pregnancy. It was appendicitis. Dr. Smitha made sure I didn’t have to be rushed into a hospital or go through the financial and emotional stress of hospital protocols. She handled everything with care, grace, and lightning-fast action. She charged me just a quarter of what a hospital visit would have cost. I was blown away not just by her medical expertise, but by her incredible empathy and dedication.
