Decisions about right and wrong permeate through everything we do at Practo. In developing Practo Care Surgeries, it was of utmost importance to us that we continue to uphold our reputation for sound professional principles that align with our company’s core values. Gleaned from a decade’s worth of learnings, this entails a strong commitment and adherence to certain moral and ethical principles.
This is a vital part of how we want to achieve our vision, serving as a compass for us to make the best choice in any situation that benefits patients, doctors and the healthcare sector at large.
Our Code of Ethics
We ensure that patients are not coerced into undergoing surgical procedures unnecessarily and without their full consent
We ensure that the surgeries that take place are according to documented care plans only and after a thorough physical examination by both surgeons as well as anaesthesiologists
We firmly believe that quality healthcare is everyone’s right, and vehemently censure any practice that is inimical to equal access to care
We do not indulge in any religious and racial bias when caring for patients
Credentialing doctors by their qualifications and ensuring they carry adequate experience in the procedures patients seek
Conducting a thorough evaluation of clinics and hospitals of all statutory and mandatory compliances
Carrying out an onsite assessment of the infrastructure, processes and clinical outcomes of clinics and hospitals
Maintaining utmost confidentiality with regard to all interactions at each level of patient encounter throughout the care journey
Seeking permission from users - both patients as well as medical establishments - to use or collect any personal information, they are in full control of their data
We continue to take this matter seriously, and in the process, remain open to suggestions from all stakeholders on how to make their journey safer for a better tomorrow.
We take and document consent for surgery and anesthesia, and ensure strict surveillance audit in each patient encounter (outpatient + inpatient).
These audits, which are accessible to only authorized personnel, are prepared in sufficient detail to provide a clear understanding to all stakeholders.
The outcome of these audits are regularly reviewed so that due measures can be taken to mitigate any incidents that could harm the patient physically and emotionally, and the reputation of all stakeholders involved in their care.
We do not encourage any commission-based practice to increase our patient pool or allow ourselves to be influenced by any manufacturing companies dealing in devices, medication and consumables for profit-sharing purposes
In holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards, we enforce these ethics strictly, and in the process, lay the groundwork to operate in a transparent and accountable manner for all our key stakeholders.
