Description
Risnia 1 MG Syrup is an antipsychotic medicine that is used in the treatment of Schizophrenia (a disorder that affects your ability to think, feel and behave clearly), Bipolar disorder (a condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs and lows) and Autism (a broad range of conditions characterised by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech, and nonverbal communication). It works by blocking the release of certain chemicals that cause such conditions. Risnia 1 MG Syrup shows common side effects such as uncontrollable muscle movements, dry mouth, joint pain, restless feeling, tiredness, etc. If these symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor for further assistance. Avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machines as it can cause drowsiness and sleepiness. Risnia 1 MG Syrup may be taken with or without food, as per your doctor's instructions. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine without consulting your doctor, as it can worsen your condition. Risnia 1 MG Syrup is not recommended if you are allergic to it. Take this medicine with caution if you have heart conditions, abnormally low blood pressure, increased fat levels, high blood sugar levels, or low white blood cell count. Inform your doctor if you have problems with your liver, and kidney before taking this medicine. Risnia 1 MG Syrup should only be taken during pregnancy only after consulting your doctor. It is not recommended for use while breastfeeding. It is not recommended for children below 18 years of age.

General warnings

Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome

Risnia 1 MG Syrup may increase the risk of Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome which is characterized by an increase in body temperature, muscle stiffness, altered consciousness, etc. If you experience these symptoms, inform your doctor immediately. Your doctor may recommend replacement with a suitable alternative based on your clinical condition.

Tardive dyskinaesia

Tardive dyskinaesia is a movement disorder characterised by involuntary and abnormal movements of the jaw, lips, tongue, trunk, and extremities. Risnia 1 MG Syrup should be used with extreme caution as it may cause tardive dyskinesia.

Diabetes and Dyslipidaemia

Diabetes is an increase in blood sugar levels and Dyslipidaemia is abnormally elevated cholesterol or fats (lipids) in the blood. Risnia 1 MG Syrup may increase the blood sugar levels and cholesterol levels in the body. Your doctor may recommend regular monitoring of your blood sugar, cholesterol, and fat levels, as well as your body weight.

Seizures

Seizure disorder is a neurological condition in which your brain activity becomes abnormal, causing fits. Risnia 1 MG Syrup should be used with caution as it may trigger a seizure attack and worsen your condition.

Use in children

Risnia 1 MG Syrup is not recommended for use in children with schizophrenia who are less than 13 years of age and bipolar disorder who are less than 10 years of age and children with autism who are younger than five years of age due to the lack of sufficient safety and efficacy data.

Elderly population

Risnia 1 MG Syrup should be used with caution in the elderly due to the increased risk of orthostatic hypotension and kidney injury.

Driving or Operating machines

Avoid performing activities that need high mental alertness like driving vehicles or operating heavy machines if you are taking Risnia 1 MG Syrup.

Missed Dose

Do not miss the dose of Risnia 1 MG Syrup. In case you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Do not take more than the prescribed dose of Risnia 1 MG Syrup. Seek emergency medical treatment in case of an overdose.

Risnia 1 MG Syrup should be used with caution if you have or had liver problems. Your doctor may recommend close monitoring of your liver function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative based on your clinical condition.
