Description
Lynx 500 mg Capsule is an antibiotic medicine containing Lincomycin. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, skin, bones, joints, stomach, and intestine. It is also used in post-surgical conditions to avoid infections at surgical wounds. This medicine stops the growth of bacteria that causes infection. Lynx 500 mg Capsule is not effective against infections caused by viruses. Lynx 500 mg Capsule may cause some common side effects like diarrhoea, rashes, headache, nausea and vomiting. Do not use this medicine if you are previously allergic to it. Contact your doctor if any of these symptoms are seen for a longer period of time. Lynx 500 mg Capsule is one of the effective antibiotics given to infants, children and adults. Lynx 500 mg Capsule should be taken on an empty stomach to avoid food interactions. The dose and frequency of this medicine will be decided by your doctor based on the severity of the infection and other underlying conditions. Once an antibiotic is started, it is always recommended to finish the entire course of the treatment. For the ease of remembering, take it around the same time every day. General warnings

Diarrhoea

Lynx 500 mg Capsule can cause diarrhoea as a side effect, because it may kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Consult your doctor if you experience watery stools for more than seven days.

Antibiotic resistance

Finish your entire course of treatment with Lynx 500 mg Capsule, even if the condition gets better after taking few doses. Because abrupt stopping may result in antibiotic resistance (the bacteria may become resistant to antibiotics).

Allergic reactions

Lynx 500 mg Capsule may cause hypersensitivity skin reactions characterised by rash, peeling skin, swelling of your face or tongue, skin blisters in or around your nose, mouth, and eyes. Discontinue the medicine if these symptoms appear.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a scheduled dose of Lynx 500 mg Capsule. If you forget a dose of Lynx 500 mg Capsule, take it as soon as you remember. If it is delayed for more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Overdose

Never take more than the prescribed dose. Seek emergency medical treatment or contact your doctor in case you suspect that you might have taken an overdose of Lynx 500 mg Capsule.
