Description
Evalon Cream is a form of female hormone (body's chemical messenger) called oestrogen. It is used to relieve symptoms occurring after menopause (the end of a woman's menstrual cycles) such as vaginal dryness/burning/itching, hot flashes, etc. It works by supplementing oestrogen in the vaginal tissues, thus relieving vaginal symptoms such as irritation, itching, dryness, etc. Evalon Cream shows side effects like stomach pain, headache, changes in weight, breast tenderness, irregular vaginal bleeding, mood alterations, and hair loss. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen. Evalon Cream is meant for vaginal use only. It should be applied once daily during bedtime. Use the applicator to apply the cream to the vagina. Continue using this medicine for the recommended duration for best results. Evalon Cream is not recommended if you are allergic to it or if you have abnormal/unusual vaginal bleeding, heart and blood vessel disorder, porphyria (a condition that occurs due to the build-up of a chemical called porphyrin in your body, which can cause nerve or skin problems), or breast cancer. Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, diabetes (high blood sugar levels), high blood pressure, or any other medical conditions. Evalon Cream is not intended for use in children. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Allergy

Avoid using Evalon Cream if you are allergic to it. Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms such as skin rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, breathing difficulty, etc.

Oestrogen-dependent tumour

Evalon Cream is not recommended if you have cancer that is sensitive to oestrogens, such as breast and cancer of the endometrium (womb lining), or if you are suspected of having it.

Heart and blood vessel disorder

Evalon Cream is not recommended if you have an active or a history of stroke (decreased blood flow to your brain) or a heart attack. This medicine should also be avoided if you have blood clotting disorders. Use of Evalon Cream may worsen your condition.

Abnormal vaginal bleeding

Evalon Cream is not recommended for use if you have an abnormal vaginal bleeding episode that has not been diagnosed. If you have any menstrual abnormalities, consult your doctor first before taking this medicine.

Porphyria

Porphyria is a condition that occurs due to the build-up of a chemical called porphyrin in your body. It affects the production of heme which transports oxygen in your blood. It can cause nerve or skin problems. Evalon Cream is not recommended for use if you have porphyria.

Liver disease

Evalon Cream is not recommended for use if you have or have had liver problems, as it may worsen your condition.

Evalon Cream is not generally recommended for use while breastfeeding.

Other medical conditions

Evalon Cream should be used with caution if you have migraine (a recurring type of headache), asthma (breathing difficulty), seizures (fits), otosclerosis (a disease affecting the eardrum and hearing), fluid retention (swelling in parts of the body) due to heart or kidney problems, high blood pressure, diabetes (high blood sugar levels), or systemic lupus erythematosus (a disorder that occurs when your immune system attacks the body causing skin rash, joint pain, tiredness, etc.). If you have such conditions, consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Other medications

Evalon Cream may interact with certain medications and cause undesired effect. Hence inform your doctor about all your current medications before starting the treatment with this medicine.

Vaginal use only

Evalon Cream is meant for vaginal use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. Rinse thoroughly with water in case of accidental contact.

Missed Dose

Apply the missed dose of Evalon Cream as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Never use more than the recommended dose of Evalon Cream. Consult your doctor in case of an overdose of this medicine.
