Description
Coversyl-AM 8/5 Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and stable coronary artery disease. Patients are advised to follow a strict exercise and diet regimen along with this medicine to get the best possible effect. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age.

Allergy

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to amlodipine, other calcium-channel blockers, perindopril, any other ACE inhibitors, or any other inactive ingredients present along with these medicines.

Angioedema

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors induced angioedema or hereditary angioedema due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Aliskiren

Coadministration of aliskiren and this medicine is not recommended due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects. This risk is especially higher in the elderly population and in patients with diabetes and kidney diseases.

Severe renal impairment

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe renal impairment (CrCl =< 30 ml/min/1.7 m2) due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Pregnancy

General warnings

Hypotension

Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high-dose diuretics. It is advised to correct this condition before initiating treatment with this combination medicine.

Coronary artery disease

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with coronary artery diseases, especially while starting the treatment or increasing the dose, since it may worsen the symptoms of myocardial infarction or angina.

Pediatric use

This medicine is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Hyperkalemia

This medicine may significantly increase the potassium levels in the blood (hyperkalemia). This may cause serious adverse effects such as fatal cardiac rhythm irregularities. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. It is advised to avoid potassium-rich foods (potatoes, bananas) and other medicines that may increase potassium levels (potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium supplements) during treatment with this medicine. Kidney diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of kidney diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Liver diseases

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of liver diseases due to the increased risk of hepatic failure. Driving and Operating machines
