Description
Betaloc 1 MG Injection is a heart medicine that contains Metoprolol. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain caused when your heart muscle does not get enough oxygen-rich blood), and arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). Betaloc 1 MG Injection helps in preventing heart attack (a blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle) and stroke (damage to the brain from interruption of its blood supply). Betaloc 1 MG Injection works by reducing the rate and force of the contractions of your heart. Thus it decreases high blood pressure. Betaloc 1 MG Injection may cause side effects like headache, breathing difficulty, and pain at the injection site. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for a long time. This medicine may also cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid driving vehicles or operating machines after taking this medicine. Do not receive Betaloc 1 MG Injection if you are allergic to it. Betaloc 1 MG Injection is administered into your vein by a health care professional in the hospital setting. Your doctor will decide the dose of this medicine and the duration of treatment based on your condition. Appropriate lifestyle changes like a low-fat diet, exercise, and smoking cessation can be followed besides taking this medicine for better results. Asthma/ COPD

Use Betaloc 1 MG Injection with caution if you have a respiratory condition such as asthma (a condition in which a person's airways become inflamed, narrow and swell and produce extra mucus, which makes it difficult to breathe) or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of lung diseases that block airflow and make it difficult to breathe). Betaloc 1 MG Injection can cause shortness of breath and also worsen other respiratory symptoms.

Diabetes

Betaloc 1 MG Injection can mask the symptoms of low blood sugar if you have diabetes. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your blood sugar levels while on treatment with this medicine.

Liver disease

Betaloc 1 MG Injection should be used with extreme caution if you have a liver problem. This medicine breaks down in your liver and is excreted through urine. Using this medicine while you have pre-existing liver troubles can further worsen your condition.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma or high eye pressure occurs when the nerve connecting the eye to the brain is damaged. Take Betaloc 1 MG Injection with caution if you have such a condition as it may increase the risk of mydriasis (a condition in which the pupil of the eye gets widened due to increased eye pressure).

Hyperlipidaemia

Hyperlipidaemia is a condition in which there are high levels of fat or cholesterol in the blood. Betaloc 1 MG Injection can increase the cholesterol levels in your blood. Hence, use Betaloc 1 MG Injection with caution.

Multivitamins with minerals may reduce the effectiveness of Betaloc 1 MG Injection when used together. Hence, Betaloc 1 MG Injection should be taken 2 hours before taking multivitamins with minerals.
