Description
Ampicib 500 mg Capsule is an antibiotic. It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections that affects your lungs, nose, throat, urinary tract, stomach, and intestine, etc. It works by preventing the formation of the protective outer layer of the bacteria and kills them. This medication is effective only for the treatment of infections caused by bacteria and not viruses. Ampicib 500 mg Capsule may cause side effects such as diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, etc. Consult your doctor if these symptoms persist or become severe. Ampicib 500 mg Capsule should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. You will start to feel better in a few days. However, continue taking the medicine for the prescribed duration. Skipping doses or not completing the full course of treatment may result in decreased effectiveness of the medicine or increased risk of re-infection that would be difficult to treat in the future. Ampicib 500 mg Capsule is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems before starting the treatment. General warnings

Antibiotic resistance

Antibiotic resistance occur when the bacteria no longer respond to the antibiotics intended to kill them. Hence, to avoid antibiotic resistance, finish the entire course of treatment with Ampicib 500 mg Capsule even if you feel better after a few doses.

Diarrhoea

Ampicib 500 mg Capsule can cause diarrhoea as it may also kill the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine. Contact your doctor if you experience severe and/or persistent diarrhoea while taking this medicine.

Missed Dose

Try not to skip a dose of Ampicib 500 mg Capsule. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to compensate for a missed one.

Overdose

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Reach the nearest emergency medical department in case of an overdose of Ampicib 500 mg Capsule.

Impaired kidney function

Ampicib 500 mg Capsule is filtered by your kidneys and removed from your body via urine. Use Ampicib 500 mg Capsule with caution if you have kidney problems as it may increase the risk of side effects. It may also cause further damage to your kidneys. Your doctor may suggest tests to monitor your kidney function and recommend dose adjustment based on your condition.

Mononucleosis

Mononucleosis is a viral infection that spreads through saliva. It may occur through kissing or sharing drinks and/or spoons. Ampicib 500 mg Capsule is not recommended for use if you have mononucleosis as you may develop a skin rash usually 5-10 days after starting the treatment. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Food interactions
The absorption of Ampicib 500 mg Capsule from your stomach may be decreased in the presence of food. Hence, take it at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after the meals.
