A traction pin is used for skeletal traction. The pin is placed on a fractured bone or joint, and weight is attached to it to move the dislocated part slowly.

Traction care can be used for the realignment of broken bones, reduce the pain of fracture, treat muscle spasm and correct bone deformities due to diseases.
4. Can traction help reduce back pain?
Traction can be used to reduce back pain caused by a compressed nerve root (sciatica) or of skeletal and muscular origin.
5. Are there any side effects of traction?
The pain may worsen after a traction session. You may experience shooting pain down through the entire limb where the traction is received. However, the side-effects are not long-lasting and fade away.
