Dr. Sudeshna Das Purkayastha's guidance has been really helpful to me. She has been very patient and committed to helping me. When I first saw her, I was not well and she helped me feel better. She had taught me how to manage thoughts and mood. She was the one who really helped me understand that I needed to take steps to protect my mental health. I consider her my savior. “Sudeshna”, meaning born of good virtues, and so is Dr. Sudeshna Biswas.

I have been under Dr. Sudeshna’s treatment for the past three years for anxiety, marital discord, anger management and OCD. I am fully satisfied with her treatment, which includes medication and CBT sessions whenever required.

My feedback about her is as given below:

1. She is always on time for her appointments, whether online or in OPD. She will give you prior intimation even if she is running late by 5 minutes. If there is any emergency she always responds on WhatsApp…

2. Marital Discord – Dr. Sudeshna took individual sessions of my wife and me and guided both of us on our grey areas. She is excellent in CBT. For the past two years, both of us are completely changed and hats off to Dr.Sudeshna—our relationship is totally transformed.

3. Anger Management – I don’t throw my temper around anymore. Credit goes to Dr. Sudeshna’s medication and CBT. Fully cured now.

4. Anxiety – Addressed to a certain level but still on medication.

5. OCD – Addressed to quite an extent but still on medication.

6. During my initial days after taking Dr. Sudeshna’s permission I had consulted 2-3 doctors only to reach the conclusion that the line of treatment is perfectly ok. ****** ********* **** *** ******** ** *** ******

I got married 10 months back (arranged marriage)and shifted to delhi from chennai. Within few days of our marriage we started having frequent arguments. Over the period of time our families got involved but couldn't resolve our issues. We both were considering divorce though our families were against divorce. My husband's friend suggested us to go for marital counselling. We both were of the opinion that an outsider cannot resolve our issues. Still because of the friend's insistence we met Dr Sudeshna Biswas 2months back. On the day one she gave both of us adequate time and listened to both of us and briefed us plan regarding how she wud proceed. To be honest I was of the opinion that in one or two session she should come up with solution. When she informed that we require few sessions, I was a bit reluctant to go back to her and even thought of going to a different doctor who cud do the process earlier. But thankfully I decided to give it a trial. After my first proper session with her, I knew I was in right hands. My husband too had the same opinion. For the first time me and my husband had similar opinion about something. Since then we continued going to her regularly. Today after 2 months, we could work on our relation as per her guidance and maintaining a peaceful life. Though our doctor has put an end to our joint sessions, I plan to continue going to her atleast once a month because I realize I need to grow as an individual and no body cud be a better guide than her. Thanks doctor for guiding us appropriately.

I had taken one of my friend to the doctor around 1 and 1/2 months back for the first time. My friend was very reluctant to visit any lady psychiatrist considering that he is generally uncomfortable with ladies and thus won't be able to open up .But since we didn't have a good experience with our first psychiatrist who was a male doctor and an obvious preference of my friend at that point who hardly gave us time and was in a great hurry to write a prescription, so my friend agreed to my choice of doctor this time. My friend was given enough time on the first visit and dealt with lots of empathy. He was made very comfortable and the doctor talked about the way of treatment in details .My friend took an immediate decision to continue with her which came as a great surprise to me. He is going for regular counseling sessions since then. Today after 1 and 1/2 months I can really see a remarkable change in him. I really feel satisfied within that I suggested the right doctor for my friend and am thankful to the doctor that she handled my friend in such a responsible manner. All the best to the doctor.
