I recommend the doctor
External Limb Lengthening can be a risky procedure or it can be a very simple procedure. Two factors are crucial: the surgeon, and the physical therapist. There are 9 main complications that can go wrong with Limb Lengthening; the good thing about doing physical therapy with Dr. Gupta is that she has two machines that are extremely helpful to avoid these complications. One is the ultrasonic therapy which helps to avoid Ballerina foot, which happens when your achilles heel is to tight from lengthening. Another one which is more rare, but extremely devastating to any patient is Bone non union where the bones do not solidify back together. The ultrasonic machine, using the pulse mode, helps the bone union which will make you be able to walk faster. The second machine is the electric shock muscle stimulater, which helps with blood flow and muscle strength, which is diminished because of non use. Most of the complications happen in slow motion and can be completely avoided if the right physical therapy is maintained. My number 1 and 2 recommendation for prospective limb lengthening patients is: 1) to research Physical therapists; making sure they have these machines, and are experienced working with these types of patients, which Dr. Gupta is, and she is also very fluent in English which is helpful because I am able to convey all my needs exactly the way I need it. AND 2) Most prospective patients think that they need to be living near the hospitals, ACTUALLY, you should be living near your physical therapists clinic because you will be seeing her more than your actual doctor. Lucky for me Dr. Anjana had a spare bedroom in her clinic, and I am able to stay in her clinic. Once I move someone could probably take my place. While I am in my limb lengthening journey I also coach a lot of prospective patients so feel free to reach out to me via email if you have any questions. Free of course. Please have concise, thought out questions for me to answer, Not (how are you?) I won't answer those. Email me at: email@example.com Good luck, and you won't go wrong going with Dr. Gupta.
