Hoped for better: Wait time
It wasn’t good! On my first appointment I had to wait for 20-30 minutes. And after contacting Practo’s customer care, the doctor finally joined the call and told me she couldn’t really take a session at that cuz of some family situation.
I understood and we kept the appointment for the next day, however the next day too, I was the one calling her and following up. She told me to call her yet again to confirm the timings. I called yet again and it went unanswered.
Now the doctor was a sweet lady and all. She was polite to me! And I also understand that she too could have an emergency back at home. My only concern here is that being a doctor, one should have the same empathy for the patients.
Especially when it comes to mental health, a doctor should know that it takes a lot of courage to seek a doctor’s advice in the first place and hence it should be taken seriously. Someone could be just one step away from taking a bad decision, and toiling with them like this can make things worse. You expect a next level understanding from a mental health doctor. That’s all I expected! One should at least ask how severe the patient’s situation is and act accordingly.
The doctor was immensely busy in preparing someone else's confidential psychological report, typing and clicking various options income of the application on her PC. Further she was too focussed on instructing her junior on what to do and how to proceed with that report she wa preparing.
I think psychologist ain job os to lend a listening ear to patient AMD ask questions and help conclude. The doctor seems little or not interested in patient was was quite active in recommending to see a psychiatric who then I discovered was her husband. Quite responsive and active in noting down when O would want to come back next and took my contact numbers ti call e to setup an appointment.
Doctors need to understand tt they arr not selling a product is empathy and consultation that tey need to extend. The job of psychologist is not to tell that I am right and the other person is wrong but help the patient get out of mental stigma and situation.
I perhaps feel the doctor herself is in need if some consultation to be more professional in what she has chosen to do.

Dr. Ashima is truly one of the most kind-hearted, gentle, and empathetic individuals I have had the privilege of learning from. Her warmth is felt not just in the way she teaches, but in the way she listens, with patience, presence, and genuine concern for you. She has an innate ability to understand emotions beyond words and respond with sensitivity and compassion, making everyone around her feel safe, respected, and valued. What sets her apart is her quiet strength and humility; the way she guides without imposing, correct without discouraging, and support without judgment. Her empathy extends far beyond professional boundaries which is reflected in every interaction, every reassurance, and every moment of encouragement. Under her mentorship, I didn’t just grow academically or professionally, I grew as a person. Learning from someone so gentle yet impactful has been a deeply grounding experience. Her kindness has left a lasting imprint on my values, shaping the way I hope to practice, connect, and show compassion to others in my own journey ahead.

Visited For Family Problems
I had the opportunity to consult Dr. R K.Srivastava and Dr. Ashima Srivastava for a session regarding some ongoing family issues, and I cannot express enough how helpful and comforting the experience was.
Dr. Srivastava is an amazing Doctor. He is too quick to pick up things. His clinical skills are brilliant. The treatment he had recommended gave me 95% relief just in five to six days after having medication. I had not slept for last few months properly. The first day after having medicine, I had a very peaceful sleep and felt very fresh after waking up in the morning. He is strict but reasonable in setting boundaries with his patients and thinks in the best favour seen other two Psychiatrist before for almost three to four months, but could not get relief at all.
Sessions with Dr. Ashima were commendable. She listened patiently, and helped me look at the situation from a new perspective. What truly sets her apart is her calm demeanor and the way she makes you feel validated, no matter how complicated your emotions may seem.
Her guidance was rooted in genuine care. Even in just one session, I felt a sense of clarity and emotional relief that I hadn’t experienced in a long time. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. R.K.Srivastava and Ashima Srivastava both to anyone seeking support for emotional or psychological challenges.
