The practitioners of the Homeopathic medical system are called Homeopaths. Homeopathy is a system of medicine developed in Germany in the late 1700s. It is based on two theories:

• Like cures like - a belief that diseases can be cured by substances that produce similar symptoms like that of the disease in healthy people.
• Law of minimum dose - a notion that a medication will be most effective in its lowest dose.

Some of them are minerals and chemicals, plant materials, including flowers, leaves, stems, bark, roots, pollen, moss, lichen, algae & ferns; microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi and other parasites; animal tissues, organs and secretions. Human materials may include hormones, tissues, and other secretions.

Yes, Homoeopathic medicines in India are covered under the provisions of the Central Council of Homoeopathy Act 1973, (Act 59) and the rules made thereunder.
