Parathyroids Function.

I had total thyroidectomy a month ago 4 parathyroids were preserved after surgery I was on 3 tablets per day of  1000mg  Calcium and vitamin D3 . Later my surgeon  reduced the dosage to 2 calcium tablets per day , since 3 days dosage reduced to 1 Calcium tablet per day .

How do I know if my parathyroids are working fine in order to stop the calcium supplement ?

And once I stop the calcium supplement will there be any chance of low calcium again?.
