Dr. Prakash Kotwal

Dr. Prakash P. Kotwal has worked at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, for over 39 years, holding various positions and finally the post of Senior Professor and Head of the department of Orthopaedics.Dr. Kotwal’s area of special interest is Hand and Upper Extremity. He has obtained advanced training from USA and Germany. He has expertise in managing complex fractures and dislocations of the upper extremity (from shoulder to finger tips of the hand), including neglected injuries. He has routinely performed total joint replacements of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and small joints of the hand. He has acquired proficiency in the reconstructive surgery of the hand, including congenital deformities/ anomalies, rheumatoid hand and tendon and nerve injuries, etc.He is currently the President of the Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand.
