Dr. Prasun Chatterjee

A senior academic geriatrician and longevity medicine expert with over two decades of clinical, academic, and public-health leadership experience. Former Professor at AIIMS, New Delhi, and founding Head of the National Centre for Ageing, with extensive involvement in national policy and programme development for older adults. Served as a key leader of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Ageing, contributing to global strategies in ageing and dementia care. Internationally recognised for pioneering work in dementia management, ageing biomarkers, and the design and implementation of large-scale healthy ageing initiatives. Has led multidisciplinary research, capacity-building programmes, and population-level interventions aimed at improving quality of life in older adults. Clinically, has treated over 200,000 elderly patients across diverse socio-economic backgrounds, including underserved communities as well as VVIPs. Combines deep clinical insight with systems-level thinking to advance evidence-based, equitable, and sustainable models of geriatric and longevity care.
