M.Phil - Psychology
I am a trained Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over eight years of experience in independent practice, based in India. In my view, distress or unhappiness is often misunderstood as a problem or a sign of mental illness. I believe it is, in fact, a signal—an invitation to explore and uncover the deeper purpose behind the discomfort we feel. Each of us holds the innate potential for change and transformation, through which we can move closer to our authentic self—a self that provides direction and meaning in life. This authentic self is shaped by both possibilities and limitations, continually forming and reforming our unique identity. As a therapist, my role is to support individuals in discovering and living life in a way that is true to them.Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of clients dealing with psychological, health, and life challenges. These include issues related to trauma, depression, suicidal thoughts, grief and loss, and difficulties in relationships. I primarily work with adolescents, young adults, and middle-aged individuals. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from Psychoanalytic, Existential, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Rational Emotive Therapy (RET) traditions. I also incorporate mindfulness and meditation—often with the support of music—into my practice when appropriate.Outside of therapy, I have a deep personal interest in music and meditation. I am also trained in Indian Classical Music, which at times finds its way into my work in subtle, meaningful ways.I am fluent in both English and Hindi.
