What I have valued most about Dr Neha Khandelwal is knowing that every recommendation she made was because she genuinely believed it was right for me. At no point did we feel hurried, overtreated or pushed down a particular path. That trust became especially precious as our journey took us from trying to conceive, through an early loss, and eventually to a healthy pregnancy.

We first started consulting Dr Neha while we were trying to conceive. Despite my age, weight and other considerations, her approach was always measured and individualised. Fertility treatments were never thrust upon us simply because they were available. She addressed what actually needed attention, prescribed what was appropriate and gave us the confidence and space to try naturally.

When we subsequently experienced a biochemical pregnancy, she helped us see the silver lining rather than lose hope. She was realistic, but optimistic about our chances. With her guidance, the right medicines and some patience, we were incredibly fortunate to conceive spontaneously soon afterwards.

She has since guided me through almost the entirety of this pregnancy. What stands out is how thoughtful and precise her advice has been at every stage. From making the right diagnoses and prescribing the appropriate medicines, to knowing when to start or stop them and advising me on when I could safely begin exercising, her guidance evolved with each stage of my pregnancy. I never felt overtreated, but I never felt unsupported either.

Pregnancy after an early loss inevitably comes with anxieties. Dr Neha has a wonderful ability to reassure without dismissing your concerns. I could take my many questions to her and know that she would listen, explain what was happening and tell me what actually mattered.

Today, seeing my baby doing well in my tummy and knowing that I am doing well too feels like an enormous blessing. As I moved cities for my final trimester, Dr Neha also ensured that I was handed over smoothly to my new doctors and could continue the rest of my pregnancy with confidence. I am particularly grateful for how thoughtfully she saw us through that transition.

The kind of warmth and kindness she exudes made me feel so comfortable that even during moments of anxiety or confusion, just talking to her gave me a sense of reassurance and confidence that everything would be okay.

Pregnancy and motherhood come with so many myths, old beliefs and endless advice from everyone around you. Whatever I discussed with her she never once made me feel that my questions were silly. She listened to everything patiently and then explained things so simply, often busting our myths with proper scientific reasoning and international guidelines. This helped me move away from so many old fashioned beliefs.

What I liked most about Dr. Neha was that her standard of care was always based on international guidelines. Another thing I really appreciated about her was that she never made me feel that a C-section was the easier or default option. If the mother’s and baby’s condition allowed for a normal delivery, she always encouraged and supported that approach and gave the body a chance to do what it was naturally capable of. For me, this was another quality that made me trust her even more and made her stand out from other doctors who sometimes push or compel patients to opt for a C-section.

Looking back, I can confidently say that choosing Dr. Neha as my doctor was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. I will always be grateful that I chose her to be a part of this beautiful journey. She made one of the most important phases of my life feel much safer, calmer and more special.
