Dr. Vivek Vij is a pioneering liver transplant surgeon credited with developing living donor surgery and standardising safety protocols to achieve a 100% donor safety profile since the time of its inception in the country. He is the first surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to publish a series of laparoscopic Donor Hepatectomy in 'Liver Transplantation'. My wife "Priya Sharma" was admitted in Fortis ESCORTS on 2nd July 2025 under Dr. Vivel Vij in Liver and Digestive Diseases institute. She was admitted due to medical negligence at Max Hospital Patparganj during her Histerectomy operation and teo more operations afterwards in her 35days stay there during which she suffered multiple injuries in her Intestines and Urinary bladder.
We were helpless and fast losing hope when Dr Vivek Vij (Chairman at Liver and Digestive Sciences Imstitute at Fortis ESCORTS Okhla) agreed to take her as her patient which changed our life for good. So we shifter her from ICU to ICU Escorts on the night of 2nd July 2025 with her stomach open with multipe Intestine Injuries , Urinary pipe cut and urinary bladder injuries and severe Infections.

Priya was there in ESCORTS hospital for 22 days, and she was discharged on 24th July 2025 with still having all the above injuries but in a better condition after treating her infections. We were told to increase her physical strength for few months so that she gets into a condition so that she can be operated upon.
The journey at home was not easy, Priya used to have severe pain and recurrent infections during these months but we were well supported and treated by Dr. Vivek Vij, Sr. consultant Dr. Md. Qaleem, Dr. Suhail Farooqui and Dr. Sohaeb Ahmed from Critical Care.
After about 7 months, Dr. Vivek Vij (along with his team) performed a 12 to 13 hour operation on 5th Feb. 2026 to treat her intestinal injuries and partially treat bladder injuries (by Dr. Pankaj Panwar). Priya Sharma underwent another Urinary Bladder related operation on 9th March 2026 and finally on 15th May 2026, she underwent the final operation for reversal of Ileostomy. Now, with God’s grace, she is recovering at home and is expected to fully recover in next few months.
Further, what can I say about Dr Vivek Vij, we prayed mostly to Bhagwan Mahadev/Shivji and Hanuman Ji *** ** *** *** ***** **** * ****** ********** ** ******* **** ** *** ** **** ****** ******* *** *** *** ********* He saved not only my wife but my whole family.
I would also like to thank 2nd in command of Liver and Digestive Diseases Institute, Sr. consultant and Liver transplant expert Dr. Md. Qaleem at ESCORTS as he is truly at the top when we think of professional sincerity. I would only say that not only based on his skills as Doctor but as a human being also, he is much better than he sounds/appears at the beginning of treatment.
I would also like to sincerely thank Dr. Shoaib Ahmed, Incharge of Gastro ICU and a Critical Care Mangement expert. No surgery or medical treatment could have been truly fruitful without his constant care and support at the GL ICU at Fortis ESCORTS hospital. He is an exceptional Doctor and a life saver.
I would also like to thank all the administrative staff (Harsh Ji, coordinator to Dr. Vij) and other staff, and nursing staff at the GL ICU and Gastro ward for there support during Priya’s treatment.

Appointment fixed but not met dr as he was not available in hospital so totally wastage of 2 n half hr....disappointment admin service at front desk ....at first enquire no was aware of dr availability.... in fortis noida ppl will just ask u to roam from ground floor to first floor n from first to ground floor.. sad imagine hw they are are handling senior & less knowledgeable person ☹️☹️
