In 2008, he worked as a foot specialist with famous Dr Arun Bal, Chief Foot Surgeon of All India Institute of Diabetes, SL Raheja Hospital, Mahim, Mumbai & Founder President of Diabetic Foot Society of India.Dr. Ashok Damir has been nominated by WDF (World Diabetic Foundation) and DFSI (Diabetic Foot Society of India) as Regional Co-ordinator of the National Wound Care Project under which he will be teaching Diabetes, Diabetic Foot & Wound Care to Post Graduate Doctors of different Medical Colleges of India. Dr Damir is very passionate about the subject of prevention of amputation of the lower limb. In addition to organizing CMEs and workshops, he contributes articles to leading publications and has also authored the book 'Madhumeh - Kaise Jiyen Masti Se'which is a brief overview of Diabetes for educating diabetic patients & Primary care physicians.
