Greetings to all.I visited this clinic on 24th July 2021 with my 90-year-old grandfather.I'd want to share my experience with you in the section below.Situation :1. My grandfather wears dentures; with time, his teeth have deteriorated in their ability to grind and swallow food.2. We paid a visit to the clinic to discuss the possibility of replacing his current dentures.3. He uses a partial denture in the lower jaw as his Incisors are still functionalComplications:1. Diabetes mellitus for a prolonged period (fasting blood sugar > 200)2. A recent episode of full heart block occurred in October 2020; he spent 2-3 weeks in the hospital and was on a blood thinner for about 6 months.3. Has other underlying age-related concerns, given his age of 90.4. According to a study ( link shared in the end) titled "Safety analysis of tooth extraction in elderly patients with cardiovascular disease," blood pressure and heart rate changed significantly following tooth extraction in elderly patients regardless of their cardiovascular disease status, and this change was more pronounced in patients with cardiovascular disease (P<0.05). This indicates that tooth extraction has a major impact on the elderly, particularly those who have cardiovascular disease.******** *** *** ****** *** *** ******* *** ********* ******** ******* **** **** **** ********** ** ****** ***** *** *** ******* ********** ** ****************** *** ** ****** **** ***** *** **** ****** ****** ***** * **** ** *************2. Upon examination of the patient, the doctor inquired as to whether my grandfather experienced any pain, sensation, or other issues with his existing set of incisors in the lower jaw - to which my grandfather replied, "No."3. The doctor then suggested us to have all four incisors extracted, ******* *** **** **** **** **** *********** ******** *** *** ** ***********4. When I explained the aforesaid situation and the underlying health conditions, the doctor stated that I am not medically literate and that they will not take up the case unless we consent to remove the four incisors.5. We tried and tried to explain our concerns to the doctor, but received no responses or assurances; we also requested that the existing dentures be replaced without extraction, but to no avail, and it came to a point where we had to choose whether to go their way or risk having the procedure cancelled.6. We chose to depart since I didn't want to jeopardize my grandfather's health or rob him of his old days tranquility.7. In the end, I'd like to express my dissatisfaction with the doctor's disregard for grandfather's pre-existing health condition.Based on my experience, I would not suggest this facility to anyone over the age of 65.
