Post a traumatic phase in my life which forced me to notice my own perceived limitations as an individual, I decided to seek support and counselling from Dr. (Ms.) Diya Kapoor @ MWell in Feb / March of this year. After 10 months and numerous sessions of one-to-one interaction, I can confidently and proudly say that it was one of the best decisions of my life. The initial few sessions were geared towards trying to identify the problem through diagnostic tests and discussions, and the sessions post that were her guiding me through techniques (CBT / Mindfulness / Relaxation etc) to enable me to tackle my problems. The sessions got more freewheeling as and when there were signs of progress and improvement. When I look back now, I see massive difference in how I was back then to how I am currently. For me, the best part has been that she has been extremely kind throughout and yet gently firm at the same time, the sort of balanced professionalism you expect from a psychologist. She would be quick to point out when I wasn’t putting in enough efforts into my therapy, and at other times, genuinely gave praise and was happy when there were tangible improvements. She remained non-judgemental and always gave a free reign whenever I wanted to share anything. It’s the sort of thing that helped me open up about my issues and myself quite early. The timings were always as per my convenience, and there was adequate time given in each session. I shall conclude by expressing my gratitude to you Doc, and I wish that more people like me who face these issues but are afraid to seek professional help because of the stigma or unawareness get benefit from your support and guidance. P.S. – The Greater Kailash clinic is situated inside a house in a narrow lane, right behind Summer Fields School (it is the first house in the lane). There is a board outside the house which would help you to identify the location. The entry to the clinic is through a door on the landing overlooking the narrow lane. The door can be accessed by climbing 6 odd steps immediately to the right of the entry gate of the house.

Almost two months back I started seeing Diya for various emotional and anxiety related issues-she discourages labelling, so I am going to refrain from using any official names/labels here.
In a short span of time, I've seen a marked improvement in my mental health and general well-being and the therapy sessions with her have proven to be incredibly helpful. She's been more like an 'anchor' to my ship, in very difficult times. My diagnosis is a little complicated and highly stigmatized - people and sometimes even, practitioners are not very well equipped to diagnose them correctly, let alone handle them. She's done a great job at hitting the nail on the head and working on my issues with me.
Of course, any mental health issue requires a lot of work and more importantly, commitment from both sides. I found her on practo after a lot of research and her qualifications aside- what really distinguishes her from the other practitioners in her field is that she's extremely patient, dedicated, understanding and most importantly, mature.
I distinctly remember my first conversation with her, when she told me: "I can't promise you that I can 'cure' your issues, but if you're willing to work towards this, I can help you manage it better- you will definitely lead a better life than this." All I can say is that I'm more than two months into therapy and I already see the difference in the quality of my life!
Often, we ignore mental health issues and dismiss them - but if you recognize that you're facing some issues, please reach out. If you see a loved one experiencing difficulties in coping or managing certain things in life, please help out. Self-educate. Spread the awareness. Please do not ignore any warning signs.
Dr. Diya has helped me a lot in several ways. Helped me to sharp my personality, including my strengths and weaknesses, thoughts and beliefs, my emotions, and motivations. Some of the things which I have learned especially through the process was to be self-directed and self-reliable and it has helped me in many ways. I have been totally transformed and it is evident. The more I am aware of my thoughts the more I can balance my emotions now. The most beautiful thing about the therapies was that I could connect well to Dr. Diya, the communication was clear and I’m thankful to her in many ways. Every bit of my sessions has helped and is still helping me because I have learned so much. My experience was wholesome.
