On the morning of July 19, 2024, at 11 o'clock, I had an appointment at CK Birla Hospital with Dr. Ashok Rajput for the treatment of my son Aditya. He has been undergoing treatment for EPTB (extrapulmonary tuberculosis in cervical lymph nodes), but he wasn't improving, and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of our district's tuberculosis hospital referred us to the TB institute in Mahroli yesterday. I work in a private job, and taking a whole day off to go to a government hospital becomes difficult for me, so I decided to opt for private treatment for my child and took an appointment with Dr. Ashok Rajput. I want to mention that I sought an appointment with an EPTB specialist at CK Birla Hospital, and they recommended Dr. Rajput to me.
I had blood reports, a chest X-ray, ultrasound report, and a CT scan report with me. I regretfully have to say that without reviewing any of these reports, the doctor announced that my child did not have TB but lymphoma. He showed no interest whatsoever in discussing ongoing TB treatment or any related matters, despite my appointment being specifically for TB-related advice.
I am not saying that my child couldn't have had lymphoma, nor that I was opposed to exploring a lymphoma diagnosis. What I wanted to convey is that I had specifically sought an appointment with these doctors as TB specialists. It was their duty to thoroughly discuss TB and analyze the ongoing treatment progress up to now, which is what I expected from them.
